McCoy had been expected to announce on Monday that he would be entering the draft, however, is reportedly still mulling his decision. For the record, McCoy had said in mid-season that he would definitely be back at school next fall, but had a change of heart and was reportedly headed to the draft before talking with Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt late last week. Meanwhile, Florida junior MLB Brandon Spikes reportedly has told several teammates than he plans to return for his senior season, although he is still reportedly discussing the final decision with his family.

Yes, Percy said that in an interview at the Championship Celebration. Several teammates have said that Spikes is returning as well as defensive coordinator Charlie Strong said Thursday after the game that he expected Spikes to return.

GAINESVILLE - Linebacker Brandon Spikes might be an impressive NFL player one day, but the rumblings out of Gainesville indicate he'll follow Tim Tebow and return for his senior season.

Two Gators sources have told the Orlando Sentinel that Spikes is expected to play one more year with Florida. Tight end Aaron Hernandez definitively said on Sunday that "he's staying," and defensive coordinator Charlie Strong said after Thursday's national championship game that "I think he will (stay)." Hernandez said he learned through sources within the team.

Spikes, a potential first-round draft pick, has said he's heavily influenced by Tebow, who announced Sunday in front of 42,000 people in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium that he'll forgo the NFL draft and return to Gainesville to try to win a third national championship.

Oddly, Spikes wasn't in attendance for Sunday's formal celebration of the 2008 national championship, Florida's second in three seasons. There's no word yet on wide receiver Percy Harvin, who also could be a potential first-round pick in the 2009 NFL draft. Spikes is the leader of a stingy Florida defense that gave up around 13 points per game. Florida held a prolific Oklahoma offense to 40 points less than their 54-per-game average.

Should Spikes return, the Gators will have all 11 defensive starters playing in 2009.

Spikes spent Sunday with his family rather than at the ceremony. Fellow linebacker Ryan Stamper said the Gators' leading tackler told him after beating Oklahoma that he planned to stay.

Eh he is absolutely nothing like Berry so that comes down to a preference thing..Berry is built like a CB too so he may not even project as a safety at the next level.

If we don't have a shot at a top QB, the Chiefs better hope that another team is enamored with one of the top T prospects. Otherwise, there isn't much of a chance of a trade-down scenario.

I don't understand why he did this, but it's his choice. Maybe we will have a shot at him next year since he will probably be the 2nd safety taken.
