I know in my professional peer community, I can talk about my experiences and it's not a big deal. The things Dane talks about at his neighborhood bar amongst his neighbors probably aren't that odd among his peer group, but to you, it's something right out of the twilight zone.

It's less about Dane's real life, and more about your lack of worldliness.

Once again, you just don't get it. I'm married, and 46 years old. Have been for almost 14 years. I have 3 kids. I'm a fairly well-traveled technical trainer who has worked for Microsoft, Compaq/HP, and IBM. I've taught in North America, Europe and Asia. Yeah, I'm big. I was a D1 athlete that blew out both his knees and I have a heart condition from over-training. Training for my sport will do that.

And you know as well as anyone that I share maybe 1/100th of 1 percent of what goes on in my life on a daily basis.

I'll admit it: Getting caught up in another Hootie thread was my lack of better judgment.

Every once in a while, for some unknown reason, I try to reason with Hootie. Try to act as a mentor.

My "I'll bet you a million" remarks were intended to make him think. Of course, they didn't. They just spurred a barrage of insults, which happens quite frequently when engaging Hootie.

It's really a shame. Once he's out of college, life is going to kick his ****ing ass because to date, he's lived an inconsequential life with absolutely no consequences for his actions (many of which are not only despicable but very illegal).
