Steel Men Are Coming

Business is ****ing booming, Steelers up 20-3 only 17 minutes into the game.

Ya'll wanted Pittsburgh. 219 yards of offense in the 1st quarter.

We'll be fine?

We'll find out next Sunday.

I like our chances. KC will be prepared. The D is going to bring the heat.

Well, its going to be what its going to be. Pretty much every time the Steelers come to Arrowhead they look intimidating. Just have to ignore that. They do that to a lot of stadiums. its not just an Arrowhead thing.

Two things;

Pitt beat Miami much the same way they beat us, bang in the mouth to open and limp to the finish line. Come to think of it, it's a lot like how we won a lot of our games. Outside the 14 points in the opening minutes, they were a very beatable team. Those first two strikes covered a multitude of ills.

Bell, for the productive runner he is, is the hesitating-ist, stand straight-uppist, runner in a long time. Commentators tried to liken him to Marcus Allen, but while Marcus would be patient behind the line, when he found a hole he burrowed into it. Bell somehow gets away with practically standing behind the line until something opens, then skitters more than burrows to the second-level. This is where missing DJ will hurt the most. We need a gunner to ferret him out every time he pauses for a lane to open up

I'm wondering if they don't have Berry spy him the entire game?

Methinks Dirty Dan will be in the box a lot to cover Bell out of the backfield and if Bell splits wide, Parker will draw him.

Can't post the link but, James Harrison just added fuel to the fire by his "We played them this year? Didn't know" quote. I say we get that bad taste out of our mouth and draw blood this Sunday!

Yeah, that makes more sense. I hope Houston is well enough to improve our run D.

March is an unknown but could be huge for our defense, but he could also be JAG or even bad.

I'm looking at opponent QB rating. You're looking at yards which is one of the worst ways to evaluate a defensive unit. You really think the chiefs pass defense is below average? Are you stoned??

Can't have it both ways, fellas.
Depends if it's a once in a while thing or a regular thing.

If a team that doesn't usually win the TO battle runs into a wounded duck launcher one weekend, the team with the duck launcher beat may have beaten themselves.

And that's not just as a Chiefs fan. The Packers went from their 4 game slide to running the table off having ZERO ZERO ZERO TOs while forcing 15 or so in the last 7 games.

The plan should be to get up early on them and force them to abandon the run. Their secondary is not good and Conley, Hill, Kelce and Maclin are all trustworthy receivers in 1v1 coverage.

I'm moving Sorenson in the box as the 8th man while bracketing Brown. I would rush a 9th player every so often on a sneak blitz on 1st downs to help stop Bell.

I think our offense can score on them and if Houston is healthy I think he's putting pressure on Big Ben often.

Houston-Jones-Poe-Hali/Ford

Sorenson-March-Wilson

Peters-Nelson-Parker-Berry-Mitchell

*This is who I expect to garner the most snaps
- One of Berry/Parker will help on Brown always
- Nelson mans slot
- Sorenson on Bell out of backfield, Parker if he splits wide.
- Our safeties can handle James/Green
- Our corners can handle Heyward-Bey/Hamilton
- Must get pressure with 4

I can't take anyone serious who uses QB rating to defend a point.

Might be the most flawed statistic in all of professional sports.

Anyone else remember that game against the Eagles where Matt Cassel went something like 14/18 for 90 yards and a TD?

His QB rating that day was like 135. On a day in which he lost by 20+ points.

I stand corrected, it IS the most flawed statistic in professional sports.
