broke my nose over the weekend - Page 3

on Sat night, I broke my nose, when I was in the ER the DR said to wait till monday and call for an appointment to have surgery and that the swelling in my right eye would not get any worse as long as I dont blow my nose.

well it is Sunday night, 24 hrs after it happened and my eye is completely swollen shut, my nose isn't swollen that bad, I'm coughing up blood a lot and this really sucks. now it seems that my other eye is beginning to become swollen. I've been keeping ice packs on my eyes, but I'm worried that it could get much worse by the time I get to see a DR again.

Has anybody else had this happen to them? is this normal?

Hell I ran out of a bar drunk as hell about a year ago and caught the tip of my toe on the lip of the concrete and did a total face plant. I had a black eye for a month. I still have a picture of that somewhere but the black eye was well on it's way to being healed at that point.

I've had mine's broke playing basketball and had to do an septoplasty procedure. They pack the chit out your nose when done and you can't breath for about 3-4 days. The surgery itself isn't that bad.

There's more... When the have to take that packing out... I swear it feels like someone digging around inside your ehad with an icepick. The drainage dry's the 9 inch long gauges to your sinus cavities. Worst pain I've ever felt.

I've had an hairline fracture in my leg and actually I rebroke it a second time playing flag football. No surgery required. Still my left nostril is a lil more closed than my right. Won't be able to tell unless you stared at me for a while. At that point you'd probably have another broken nose from me thinking you were gay.

~ Don't look forward to 4, 9 inch gauges in my head anytime soon.

I went in for a test a while back, and they had me snort some KY stuff and tried to put a hose the size of an inkpen up my nose.........after failing the left one several times, they tried the right.......it just crunched on the cartilege from some nose adjustment along the way.

I can empythise with the gauze......it felt like someone scratching your brain with a coat hanger when they put that hose in my face.
