thats the problem though. No matter what Alex Smith does. if he lets say a typical stat line for him.

he goes 16-20 for 240 yards, 2 tds, 0 ints, and its a win. People will bitch because his numbers werent good enough, and if it wasnt for jamaal charles rushing for 150 yards, and the defense carrying alex smith, they would of lost.

So you are calling Andy Reid a lier? Andy Reid wants to pass the ball more than run the ball yet your suggesting that's not what we are going to do? We are still going rely on the run game with Jamaal Charles & the defense is going have to keep teams from scoring 20+ points on us. We can win game despite Alex Smith like we did 2010 with Matt Cassell. Then what do we do in the playoffs?

Sighs. If you arent trailing, most teams dont continue to pass. Not sure if you have noticed, but in the past few years, the eagles are trailing a lot, and having to throw. I do not believe that you will have to worry about that with Alex Smith as your qb. I believe you will be leading quite a bit. I believe your defense is much better than what showed last year.

Dude Andy Reid came out and said his philosphy is to pass and keep passing. Has nothing to do with the lead or if behind he wants to pass the ball and mix in the run. That is what he wants our offense to be about and that is where I think that Alex Smith is going to faulter if he expect Alex to pass that much per game. Alex Smith is ok at less than 25 pass attempts a game but more than that he will be getting in trouble.

He threw for 240 yards or more exactly SIX TIMES for the 49ers in the last 27 games.

That's not even 25 percent.

Meanwhile he's thrown for 200 or less yards for the 49ers 15 times in the last 27 games.

THAT is what Alex Smith is. Typically, he throws for less than 200 yards.
