What is the single biggest reason Chiefs have not won the SB

We were the closest under Vermeil and Marty, but just because they had their shortcomings doesn't mean they're responsible for our lack of SB trophies. Perhaps you could make the argument that they're two of the biggest reasons why we don't have any playoff wins in 20 years, but not Super Bowls.

If I had to name the biggest culprit, I blame poorly constructed teams built by GMs and coaches with a lack of testicles and too much trust in their philosophies and personnel. That covers the Vermeil and Marty teams with glaring weaknesses, but also the organization's unwillingness to try to put in our own real ****ing QB. Also, the people who sucked at their jobs weren't fired quickly enough, which includes players and coaches alike.

And for that, you can probably blame Lamar Hunt for being too loyal, which trickled down in the organization from his leadership.

Clark is a bit less like his father, but he's kind of clueless.

But just like San Diego realized after a few seasons, Marty style football makes you think you are close to a championship, but in reality you are so so far away, like as far away as teams that didn't make the playoffs that year. Marty never brought a 'killer' and dangerous team into the playoffs, just teams that played 'not to lose.'

Same thing that happened to Herm.

Roaf and Shields would have retired, our defense would continue to struggle (perhaps even moreso than it did), and Trent Green would become feeble and unable to properly run the offense.

Only thing that Vermeil would have done better is manage Larry Johnson in such a way that would get him more effective ways of carrying the ball, so that the weapon he was in the second half of 2005 would continue through 2006 and 2007.

In any case, still no playoff win.

I don't doubt Chunt desire, I actually doubt his savvy and football IQ. I just don't think he knows what he is doing, an example of this is bringing in two horrible GM's back to back (Pioli and Dorsey). His apparent lack of football brilliance is crippling the organization.

Vermeil's offense could put up a shit ton of points, but defense still wins championships, and his defenses sucked ass.

Marty, for all his flaws, had a far better shot of winning than did that useless Dick.

I am not happy with Dorsey's decisions to this point, but calling him horrible is a bit premature, especially when it's clear that his first offseason was almost certainly guided by Hunt's direction to stop the bleeding and get fans back into the seats.

An owner who wants it badly enough will overcome his ego and need to decide who should be coach and GM, and will seek, obtain and then FOLLOW impartial expert advice. Owners that make their own decisions still don't want it as bad as they want to indulge their egos.

Chiefs don't want to draft a quarterback because they are scared to death of failure. All they see in their heads is the 80s when they tired it twice. They don't want that again, they just want to be nice and safe around 8-8 at least to keep butts in the seats plain and simple.

Not making an effort to sign Drew Brees...missing on the majority of 1st round picks. Playing in a city that probably ranks 3rd from the bottom ..behind Cleveland and Buffalo in desirability for FAs...Peyton Manning/John Elway playing in the AFC. Never having a true #1 receiver in 20+ years....letting Gannon walk. Hiring retread coaches based on name recognition...piss poor luck at the worst moments.

I think the whole Emmanuel Sanders situation paints a pretty clear picture...and the fact Manning wouldn't even return phone calls.

Green Bay is up there too, they've just drafted well. Over 90% of that community is white, and when they see any black guy the residents always assume he's a football player.
