An independent study found that of all annual golf cart accidents (18,000 per year nationwide), more than 48 percent result in hospitalization, severe trauma, or death.

I'm surprised a fatality could happen from a vehicle with only one horsepower.

It genuinely wounded my soul to like one of your posts, but fair do's. That made me laugh out loud.

Not a laughing matter.

Didn't Derrick Thomas end up killing his friend in that car accident?

I remember hearing his friend walked away because he was wearing his seat belt, unlike DT. That could have been wrong though. I was in high school and didn't exactly fact check things I heard.

Was that what it was? You might be right. DT obviously wasn't wearing a seat belt and it cost him his life.

I think there were two other people in the car. The one with the seat belt walked away, DT died, and the other one with no seat belt died as well. (The third one could have just been badly injured, but I think he died too.)

DT died days later in the hospital from the femoral artery clotting or something like that. He shouldn't have died.

I think they meant “dragging the buggy,” not “behind the wheel.”

I wonder if the NFL will suspend him some games. Do they do that for non players?

But to those of you saying ban golf carts. Seriously those things are about as unstable as a dwarf with EEE implants.
