Are you referring to older more intelligent individuals than kids like yourself? There has been alot lost in the last two generations. Younger pukes like yourself have not had to suffer anything. Think from the ownership, GM, and HC on the risk reward factor. Say there wasn't already an article or two out there and it was all kept under wraps. You still risk the major distraction it would cause if/when it became public knowlege. Even Joe Posnaski couldn't put out a feel good story on this kid.

Sometimes with a player with issues you can factor in the age of the overall roster and maybe fit a kid with a veteran group. In this case it wouldn't matter. Casey Weigman is the eldest IIRC. Hell, even in this case he is an OLmen. I don't know Casey personally but i doubt he could do anything but sit there and shake his head in disbelief. The younger group would have him nicknamed sister fucker in a matter of days.

For a front office, coaching staff, and player development department, there is no precedent for how to take a player and make him part of the team, for a guy that even years ago screwed his sister and she had a kid from that incedent. Again the fact that there is his story out in the media already. Even if it wasn't they would run the risk it would come out and tear the team apart with the shitstorm of coverage it would get.

Why bring 1 player with this strange past that could disrupt 53 players plus the rest of the organization?
