The Chiefs' Cap Room

I posted this in another thread but it felt so good, I'm going to type it again.

Shields
Wesley
Hall
Green
Hicks
Sims
Knight
Roaf
Holmes

Our FA signings have all been deals, too. The only one for serious scratch was Nap Harris, and he'll be worth every penny rebuilding this defense.

Soon as the cut date arrives, Chiefs are FREAKING ROLLING in cap space in 2007 and 2008.

I figure a good chunk of that will go to LJ, but that opens us up for some monster acquisitions, in both quality and quantity.

Could put us in prime position for a bidding war for Keyshawn Johnson.

Don't get me wrong. Who can complain about getting anything for Sims? Perhaps we can get lucky. It's just that I don't remember the last time I've seen a "conditional" 7th rounder. Pretty embarrassing for Sims, given that he's the former 6th overall pick.

We know that this POS isn't going to give the Bucs anything, so they've essentially taken him off our hands, which is fine by me.

I just can't believe how much Hicks has made over the years. Good for him I guess but damn.

Those numbers were 2006 numbers anyway, plus you need to minus all the SB and all the guaranteed stuff too...

2008, with them off the books should be nice though... even though we only save 1.4 now, I think we would have been spending that plus any bonuses in 2007 had we had kept them this year...

BINGO

I think getting KJ would be a solid move that will not break the bank. It would also allow the Chiefs not to rush Bowe. And before you Joe Hall nerds start giving mad props to Webb, we can't count on a rookie or some undrafted FA to become a pro bowl player with a first year QB.
