oh no there goes Tokyo Go Go Godzilla!
Saw them in concert many moons ago and Godzilla came out on stage and was flamin and everything. It was too cool. As far as teen bands, it was David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, The Osmonds, then along came Leif Garrett, Shaun Cassidy (I wish he would have da doo run runned down the street) and Andy Gibb. As long as there are kids under 15 or so there will be a market for teenie bopper music. Change the channel for god sake.

Pitt Gorilla..........that is a damn good list of talent coming through your town, and I mean DAMN good. We have a good set coming through Cedar Rapids here on 9/18........American Head Charge, Mudvayne, Rammstein, System Of A Down, and Slipknot.
Izen..........thanks for the tip on Dreamtheater.......you mentioned you like rapcore, there is a band from here in Ames, Iowa you might like.....originally 35" Mudder, they are now Mudder but if you need to search for tunes try both, a good tune to look at would be either "Stained" or "Full Scale War". |

God, Aturnis, you just named off a couple of bands that we used to have to gig with. Have I mentioned I can't stand that "music"? Bunch of guys screaming, if you asked me...

Yeah, but compared to hip--hop, and rap........this music has exression and meaning......
I do like many other types of music, but most of the time this is what I relate to. I listen to Dave Matthews, Bob Dylan, Hendrix, Steve Miller, The Eels, John Cougar Mellencamp, Eagles, and all of the oldies my rents used to play, and anything 60's or 70's or the hair-bands of the 80's. |

I just had a thought, although metal may be loud and obnoxious......it is a art of expression and most of the band members are well educated in most cases. They use big words, that you might need a dictionary to find the meaning. You may pass this off as them being bombastic, but I think it is just their way of intellectually expressing themselves. Also.......how many words that the average teen doesn't know do you hear in rap and hip-hop? I don't think I've ever heard any word I didn't know other than slang.
