Why you should be scared...

Pioli and Haley thought this team would be competitive. They thought we had a shot at winning eight games.

Everyone wants to talk about how bad the roster is and how we have to cut them slack because they're digging out from Peterson and Herm's mess. This is no different from the last Chiefs team. Peterson and Herm thought that roster was capable of being competitive. They thought we could win six or seven with last year's roster.

Pioli and Haley thought we could win eight or more with what they've put out there.

Do they know what it takes to win football games? It takes players. Not signs or media policies or Pentagon-like security or secrets or cursing at the players. Players win football games.

22 guys off the street could win two games. We're halfway home and the Chiefs have one victory.

I know you don't care but it is amazing to me that you even have a job considering your self-absorbed obsession with "Egoli." Most of the stuff you've advanced in regards to Pioli and Haley has only shown how far you're willing to reach when it comes to supporting the narrative you've tried to create.

You come off looking silly and amateurish. And as a chief fan I wish you would just knock it off. There are enough legitimate football criticisms to write about instead of the manufactured issues and petty personal attacks that you continue to focus on. Is it really your job to undermine Pioli and Haley at all costs?

My guess is, he doesn't give a **** what you think penchief. Knowing JW, he gives a shit where his next rack of bibs is coming from, but your suggestions, not so much. Hey, but that's just a guess, Ace.

Yeah, I know. That's why I prefaced my post the way I did. However, it seems more appropriate to tell it right to the horses mouth rather than just bitch about it on the obligatory Whitlock threads.

I'll expound on this once I have a chance to get to the computer, but what GM or head coach is going to come out and publicly state they expect one or 2 wins. That doesn't inspire anyone- from the players on the roster or the fans, whose butts fill the seats. Coming out and stating that only builds in an excuse for less than mediocrity.... hardly anyway to start a new regime.

I don't recall reading a quote anywhere stating the Chiefs would/capable/could win 8 games.
Link?

If so, then, this "regime" cannot spot talent. Maybe be with Thiggy and that stupid a** offense and some momentum, 4 or 5 possibly against this years schedule.

I would submit that Mr. Hunt should have gone to an established head coach.

No one likes to say it but Todd Haley is a worse coach than Herm, the guy is possibly the worst gameday coach I have ever seen.

Explain. I don't see anything wrong with taking the opportunity to tell someone directly to their face what I think. Seems like the only way to do it. Who cares if he doesn't give a rat's ass. I wasn't giving him career advice. I was just telling him what one chief fan thinks of his assinine schtick.

Not one player brought in via FA or the waiver wire has been a significant upgrade over the player they replaced, and in some cases, they are significantly WORSE than the player they replaced.

When you're talking about 30+ players, that's alomst impossible to pull off, especially considering we're dealing with the Executive of the Decade here.

Christ, 2 of our 3 most promising young players are regressing.

No one was asking for a 1-year miracle. But this team is actually worse than the 2008 team.
I don't think Haley/Pioli are completely devoid of any critiscism. I thought they'd win 4-5. Giving Cassel that contract when they didnt have to and then not doing much to upgrade the line to protect that investment. Head-scratchers, to be sure. If Perderast, Krumrie isn't replaced, that will be another notch against them.

Jason I am glad you are posting here but IIRC Pioli never predicted any wins or even said they would be competitive this year when he was asked. Maybe he told you that in private if so say that.

Todd Haley has taken the Chiefs best offensive player and cut his production in half so someone like Lance Long can get double digit targets, what in the **** is that?

When JWhit says he likes/liked Herm as a Coach, I sincerely hope he wasn't referring to the field general/game day aspect because Herm WAS god-awful.
