Yeah this is unfortunately the truth. And because we went back to back we absolutely have a bigger target on our back. Early bye week, tough schedule.

There’s a lot that might need to be improved and we may even need to trade for a WR. But unless we have a key injury (like Rice going down for the season) it isn’t enough to panic yet. Pop is also very worrying potentially

It's hard to see more than 2-3 losses on the remaining schedule. That was easily two of our toughest opponents.

I really want the one seed. Not only for the bye, but it also SURE does make it a hell of a lot easier to plan a trip back home for the playoffs.

Well these last two games will go a long ways towards making that a reality. Counting H2H they are essentially 3 games ahead of two of their biggest obstacles to the #1 seed.

You all that keep pointing to the Raiders and Patriots beating the Ravnes and Bengals miss the point entirely. Winning, especially every single ****ing year, is not easy. The Chiefs had as tough of a first 2 games as anybody, and they're 2-0.

But we must hand wring and point out and emphasize only our weaknesses-real or perceived. Even at 2-0. Then after beating two teams with solid QB play and good defense, we must play down their losses to show they’re not that good. Can’t be happy.

Probably just semantics, but haven't seen anyone saying it'll be a long season or risking a 3peat because we didn't trade for Jefferson or that we're screwed at the QB position for a long time, so I think this place is doing pretty well... even if that is the bar.

Oddly, it seems like we get ourselves hyped up with our own promises of greatness and then we're a bit disappointed when it doesn't immediately happen. Last year it was the receiver room might be amazing and this offseason it was the offense magically turning back the clock to 2019. And people thought they'd blow out perhaps their biggest rival for reasons.

We go into the season thinking undefeated 3peat and then well, Kelce might be old, the offense may not show its cards in week 2 even if it will be better than last season, other teams will really try and teams don't just win every game by 6 touchdowns or lead by 3 touchdowns by halftime.

Our lofty Madden-esque expectations fail us sometimes, even if this is how greatness looks... so enjoy it.

Yep. Some here are just too spoiled to recognize that this is how it will be post-rookie QB contract. We are always going to have thin spots and areas where we have to rely on rookies. I’m loving this ride and am going to savor every second of Mahomes goodness.

First sentence of the second para is exactly it. We (myself included) whip ourselves up into a "we'll annihilate everyone" mood, ignoring that that's not what we've done for awhile. We win by grinding it out and Pat overcoming.
