I reject the premise of this thread due to the fact that any time I may be marooned on a desert island, I'll be in a situation where I'll have my mp3 player. in all honesty, there are very few albums that I listen to front to back. let's see if I can make it to ten and take back my rejection of the thread...
1) staind "dysfunction"--good angsty rock-metal from the days before they became bleeding 'giners. 2) orgy "candyass"--excellent front to back (heh) nu-metal album, solid throughout. loved orgy when I was a soph and jr. in high school lo those many years ago 3) korn "greatest hits vol. 1"--I love pretty much everything korn did through issues (their latest stuff is hit/miss--twisted transister, liar and coming undone are they only redeemable songs that come to mind of their late stuff)--can't pick one cd, so it has to be the greatest hits 4) rage agains the machine "live and rare"--my favorite band of all-time can't be fit into one album--this has a great mix of unreleased stuff (darkness is my favorite, but zapata's blood is great too) and live performances. good shit. 5) the beatles "remastered box set"--cheating, I know. I can't pick just one beatles album. ****ing love the beatles, they're second favorite alltime band probably. 6) tech n9ne "anghellic" it's his early stuff, but it'll never get better IMHO than his masterpiece anghellic. his new stuff is a bit too poppy for my taste, this has the angst and anger that some of the later stuff really lacks. it just has so much raw emotion that I can really get behind it. 7) ben folds 5 "whatever and ever amen"--****ing brilliant from beginning to end. it's light, but has enough bite to be worthwhile. 8) wu tang clan "enter the 36 chambers"--just sheer greatness. 9) queen "greatest hits platinum (vol. 1-3)" great band--gotta have some freddy mercury and brian may to rock my brain out 10) pure reggae "1998 pure reggae"--great mix of reggae, a good change of pace for all the previous music. |

Many bands have boxed sets. For instance Pink Floyd: Shine On. Or Oceansize: Feed to Feed ![]() |

You, sir, have excellent taste in music. I had overlooked bright lights, big city. I had a hard time choosing the Waylon album, but I didn't want the same artist on twice.

Saw her and David Rawlings one Sunday afternoon in an almost deserted bar here in town. It was probably 10 years ago, and she didn't have much of a name, then. Was one of the biggest surprise shows of my life because I just sort of stumbled into the show since I didn't have anything else to do that afternoon. I was blown away.
