Broncos @ Patriots

I know there's a bit of 'over load' on a certain topic, but it's Friday...

First off, I'm not expecting a Broncos' victory on Saturday night. I do think that Denver can be productive against the Patriots' defense, but they're going to need another solid game across the board.

Run with the consistency and passion that they had in the earlier game this season, mix in passing that we saw last week ... and DO NOT turn the ball over. If they do this, then yes Denver can score 21-30 points on this defense.

The big challenge is Denver's defense. They cannot allow Brady to sit back there and pick them apart. They need to mix up their looks and pressure Brady early and often. Denver has the defense that can do what's necessary to win, but it will be by far their toughest challenge of the year.

At the very least, I'm hoping for a close and competitive game. Denver has to force NE into punting situations early...

The non-homer in me says Patriots 34 / Denver 24
The cautiously optimistic fan in me says Denver 30 / Patriots 27

I do think we'll see a better game that many expect. Everything at this point to me is gravy, I never viewed it as a reality at any point in the season.

Tom Brady, dare I say this out loud. Could have sat after the half if at least the third quarter. Brady left a game in the Third Quarter with 11 mins left after throwing 6TD's and 360yds ( Oct 18 2009 vs. Titans). And the score 45 to nothing. Just saying. F@$K Tom Brady and "The Hoody."

Why do people cry about scores being driven up? JFC these guys are professionals not grid kids. When the Chiefs are being raped I'm more pissed at KC then the ones doing the raping.

Once you sit Brady, he is not going back in. You are comparing Regular season to the playoffs. If you can't understand that the stakes in the playoffs are significantly higher than a Sunday in October, I can't help you. You are letting your hatred of Brady cloud any football intelligence you may have.

Complete control of game at that point. There are no rules as regards if a QB can come back in or not. NFL Playoff games or Regular season, you only get "props" for running college game scores up, Professional courtesy.
Even Mike Ditka in 86 when the Bears were thumping the Cowboys 44-0, asked Ryan to "call off the dogs". Ditka had respect and professional decorum towards fellow coach Landry.

Again..you site a REGULAR season game. I gurantee you Ditka calls off no dogs in the playoffs.

And it is just common sense. Why take Brady out if there is any chance you will need to put him back in? If there is a chance that Denver is going to make a comeback, then you want Brady on the field.

Many NFL games are dependent on momentum...what kind of momentum would the Broncos had gotten had they seen Brady on the bench at the end of the first half? They would believe they would have chance? And what a let down on the Pats side? If BB had pulled Brady and the Broncos made a Buffalo Bills comeback...fans would be screaming for BB's head and justifiability so. Your point screams football ignorance.

The men on the field are professionals. They get paid to play. As many on this board have stated many times...if you don't want the other team to score, play some defense and stop them.

So, let me get this straight: up 28-7 before the half, New England was supposed to assume the game was over and not attempt to score for the few minutes before halftime as well as the entire second half.

Apparently he's unaware of Buffalo coming back from a 35-3 deficit in the playoffs in the early 90's. The Patriots should have been more responsible and tried to keep the game close to avoid hurting anyone's feelings and to give the Broncos a chance of coming back in the 4th quarter.

You must have missed the Houston vs Buffalo playoff game when the Oilers were being "classless" being up 38-3 in the second half and LOST...

There is no mercy rule, Denver's defense should have played better.

How come nobody ever accused the Colts of running up the score when they beat similarly beat the shit out of the Broncos in 2004? Or when the Packers do it. Or the Saints when they beat the Colts this year 62-7. For some reason only the Patriots are supposed to call off the dogs.

I don't want to read the entire thread, but is someone seriously suggesting the Pats should have sit Brady in the second half? You've got to be kidding me.
