Mine were about like those. Granted, they're nosebleeds, but it'll be fun anyway.

I was hoping we'd win a SuperBowl first, but I gotta say...I'd almost welcome that. You know why?

Because while my upper-level, goal-line, in-the-sun tickets are fine, I think it's complete BULLSHIT that I have to fork over another $5,000 to join the "Pavillion Club" for me to get better seats.

I've tried to "move closer" to the field with better seats; and they are never "available" because they set aside those available seats for those willing to fork over even more dough than regular seats cost.

If that's the way they wanna play....there is a side of me that says, "a couple of 3-13 or 4-12 seasons would actually be a good thing."

It's the "inflatable" looking white roof structure south-west of the stadium. Basically, it's a hooty-tooty "inside" and "out of the elements" catered tailgate; you have food and beverages (at sportsbar prices) with BigScreen TVs for pregame coverage....and bands playing tunes. To join, you gotta fork over $5000, and annual memberships after that cost $1000 or more (each year)....and if you do it, THEN you can "upgrade" to "better" seats they only make available to "Pavillion members."

I suppose it's a way to keep us poor white trash types from crashing the party of the Johnson Coutny wine-and-cheese crowd from the "Club Level".....that sit on their asses, or are on their cell phones during the 3rd and long defensive downs when I'm yelling my ass off.

It's a sore-spot with me, obviously.

How long you been a season ticket holder? I moved from the 50 yard line in the upper deck 3 rows from the top to the lower bowl and section 111 3 years ago using the seaon ticket holder upgrade program.

Nothing else to do?

OK, so you have had an opportunity to rag on the cost of a Chiefs ticket. Bet that felt great. Like what else do you have to bitch about.

I for one have paid the season ticket prices and have no bad feelings about what they cost. And to add to that I fully supported the efforts to come up with a way to improve Arrowhead. I suppose most of those who complain about ticket cost complained about that to.

Maybe you need to consider a few things:

1) Going to a game is a voluntary thing. If you dont like the cost, stay home, watch it on TV or listen to the radio but dont bag on those who go to games.

2) Its a business, not a social service. If the Chiefs have to pay a gazillion dollars to keep your favorite player and they dont, you bitch. But when they do, someone has to pay that. Businesses are not run on a goal to break even. If the Hunts make money on the Chiefs Business, Good. This is America. Making Money is good.

3) Tickets in some cities cost less. So? In some they cost more. Pointless. Id pay a lot more to live in and near KC and go to a Chiefs game than live in a craphole like StLouis and sit indoors watching the rams.

4) The Pavillion and all that stuff is not free. Its not supposed to be free and if you dont like it then you need to get a hobby. What do you freaking care?

5) This BS about "wine and cheese set" is plain stupid. If you have not been in the Pavillion then how would you know who or what. And Please spare me the "working man blues" over ticket prices. I sit next to a guy who has to save from every paycheck and rides a bus to the games. He is a great guy and I have never heard one word of complaint from him over the cost of tickets. He is a fan just like the guy who sits in front of him who owns 3 fast food resturaunts. And on game day, dressed in red, we dont have a distinction thet ones got a lot of money and the other has to get by day to day. Thats cool. if you dont think so, get a life.

6) Inflation. Yep. There is Inflation. Its called economics. What comes first...your raise in pay this year or the cost of living increase?

Bottom line for me is I think the Chiefs are, have been and will be a great asset to KC and the metro area. They generate great cash flow in the community and that helps everyone. We have a world class Statdium to see games in that will be top of the line after the improvements. We have a World class Sports Complex regardless of the Royals dismall record.

I remember the pre Carl Days and I wouldnt ever want to go back. Is Carl Perfect. No. Are you? I'm not.

Ticket revenue has nothing to do with the renovations. That is fully supported by a sales tax and other revenue but not one dime of ticket revenue goes to renovations.

Maybe you need to consider a few things:

1) Going to a game is a voluntary thing. If you dont like the cost, stay home, watch it on TV or listen to the radio but dont bag on those who go to games.

Shut up or don't go? Is this a realistic option on a Chiefs BB?

2) Its a business, not a social service. If the Chiefs have to pay a gazillion dollars to keep your favorite player and they dont, you bitch. But when they do, someone has to pay that. Businesses are not run on a goal to break even. If the Hunts make money on the Chiefs Business, Good. This is America. Making Money is good.

Ticket revenue is less than 20% of all the NFL teams revenue. TV and sponsorship money is the one paying the bills.

3) Tickets in some cities cost less. So? In some they cost more. Pointless. Id pay a lot more to live in and near KC and go to a Chiefs game than live in a craphole like StLouis and sit indoors watching the rams.

So again its either love it or leave?

4) The Pavillion and all that stuff is not free. Its not supposed to be free and if you dont like it then you need to get a hobby. What do you freaking care?

It's the system in place to increase their revenue. And what does a hobby have to do with going to the pavillion or not?

5) This BS about "wine and cheese set" is plain stupid. If you have not been in the Pavillion then how would you know who or what. And Please spare me the "working man blues" over ticket prices. I sit next to a guy who has to save from every paycheck and rides a bus to the games. He is a great guy and I have never heard one word of complaint from him over the cost of tickets. I've been a season ticket holder for a while now and you are kidding yourself if you think the crowd hasn't changed. Sure there are alot of people like your example on the bus but I could give you 10x more examples of the fans that are around me now and the ones that use to sit by me.

6) Inflation. Yep. There is Inflation. Its called economics. What comes first...your raise in pay this year or the cost of living increase?

As was proven before in this thread. Ticket prices have went up over 200% above inflation.

Who has ever questioned that the Chiefs are not an asset to KC? We just gave them $350 million to keep them here for another 25 years. I think the average John Doe has proved that they are "Real" fans. Your tone in this post suggests that you are somehow a "better" fan than the ones who complain about ticket prices. Lighten up Francis

BTW, I've met Mr. Kotter on several occasions in person and you sir are not as big as fan as Mr. Kotter.

I remember the pre Carl Days and I wouldnt ever want to go back. Is Carl Perfect. No. Are you? I'm not.

Nah. It's because Bob Dole is lucky enough to work for one of only two state agencies whose leadership decided that the average Joe didn't need any of the extra appropriations to make up for rising prices...

Ticket Revenue Has nothing to do with renovations???

OK...then just how will the Chiefs pay the bill for their portion? And the annual rent? And the annual upkeep?. The simple fact is that ticket revenues as well as all other sources of income go on the Income line. And all expences go on the expence line...and the money generated in income goes to pay expences.

The Chiefs bear some of the load on renovations, annual rent and upkeep. So yes, Ticket Revenue does in some way become part of paying the renovation bill as well as the cost of salaries and all other expences.

Ticket Revenue is only 20% of the teams revenue...ok. Ill buy that. But the issue is will people pay the price for tickets and yes so far they seem to be willing to do so and are willing to go see the games and enjoy it. Is there a point where people will stop? Sure. But for our team in this community we seem to have demand at current prices. What is the magic number...who knows.

One of the great things about the Chiefs fan base and people who go to games is the diversity you see. Every game we have great people in our section. From year to year they have changed but we have families, young folks, older folks, people who clearly have the financial backing to do about what they want and those who are just working folks who love the game and the Chiefs. The bottom line for me is it doesnt matter. Once you walk through that gate at Arrowhead, what you have and who you are does not matter. There are no class distinctions. Its true in the game, in the tailgates, and all over. Its a great mix of people from all walks off life who share a passion for the Chiefs.

The "tone of my post" is just simply this. We have a great asset in the Chiefs. And they provide a great source of enjoyment. The cost of tickets and the spewing about how bad carl is or how terrible it is that the Chiefs dare to raise ticket fees or the cost of parking is fine, but lets be realistic and honest. Its a business and we are consumers and so far the business is doing well and the consumer seems to feel the value they get for the price we pay is ok.

There are no fans that are better than other fans. We are all fans no matter if you go to one game, no games, or all games.
