I'll never forget hearing years ago that Carl Peterson was going to leave the Chiefs and take the Eagles GM job. I don't remember who said it but it was on ESPN or Inside the NFL on HBO. It wasn't even close to the truth and I'm sure the guy who said it is still employed somewhere. I wouldn't have people fired for being wrong about things like that but I would expect them to tone down their sensational reporting after being made a fool of.
Totally agree.

According to KFFL:

Jets | Law Must Lower Price?
Fri, 15 Jul 2005 06:37:06 -0700

Updating previous reports, Newsday's Ken Berger reports free agent CB Ty Law (Patriots) must lower his asking price for the New York Jets to give any consideration to signing him, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

That's funny, I can't recall a time that we've really needed Skip around.

Yeah, I saw it awhile back. Watching it was like having my toenails pulled off. His tension and pressure just builds and builds and builds. I know the temptation to do those kind of things is great from my short journalistic experiences...
