Too early to talk about the Steelers?

Listen, the odds of Miami not getting anally raped by Ben Rapeslisburger is low. There's no way in hell those guys beat Pitt on the road with a backup QB, especially after seeing them shit the bed at home today.

It's pretty much set guys. We're playing the Steelers at home.

Biggest difference between this potential matchup and our last meeting: Terrance Mitchell.

Also the improved play of Nelson.

And IMO, Dee Ford should be starting over Houston, or move Houston into Hali's spot.

Our pass rush is simply better with Dee Ford over the RT. Dee didn't look nearly as effective play against the LT. Either rush both Ford and Houston off the right side, or swap Houston.

At least for the remainder of this season.

I'm skeptical but with this team, who the hell knows.
He was playing out of position at the beginning of the season...then got hurt. He was filling in for Mauga.

All the pre-season buzz was for March playing in DJ's spot. Let's hope it was warranted...that would be a huge addition. He's had a season worth of meetings...

Because they are the only team this year that thoroughly thrashed the Chiefs. That was a prison gang rape level beat down. Every other loss this season was arguably a winnable game. The Steelers game was over halfway through the first qtr.

On a more Xs and Os level, Roethlisberger will attack man coverage deep more than any other qb in the playoffs. If he's on, our CBs will get burned often enough that our offense won't be able to keep up. The Steelers are a bipolar team that can play really poorly, but their best will trounce KC's best.

Yeah...had a few celebratory drinks. I thought he was implying that KC had no chance against Pitt.

My bad...a Miami win would be pretty crazy though. As it stands, NE will face a back-up QB, no matter what, in the divisional round...unless Houston starts Brock.

It's not up to Ben, it's up to our DB's. We won't be trotting out raw rookies this time around. IIRC, both Steven Nelson and Gaines missed that game. Pitt just threw the ball up to whatever receiver Peters wasn't covering. Same thing the Donks did two seasons ago.

This is different secondary than the first time these two teams played. AND Dee Ford hadn't found his rhythm yet.

I think it's guaranteed that the Patriots get a backup QB. Big Ben is the only starting QB in the WC round that isn't a back up and as the 3 seed, they can't go to New England for the divisional round.

Buffalo, and yes, Ben was terrible.

Our run defense is equal or worse at this point. Who is going to cover Bell in pass coverage. Wilson already can't cover average backs.

I do agree with your overall point. Swapping Mitchell for Gaines and being home instead of on the road made a huge difference in the Denver matchups. Hopefully it does the same for the POTENTIAL Pit matchup. Our pass rush however does go dormant for stretches. I suppose everyone's does. Didn't watch who was out there most of the time yesterday, but it didn't look amazing.

It's not Big Ben that worries me. It's Bell. He destroyed us in week 4. And we had Bailey, Howard and DJ in that game. Our defense just gave up 127 yards to San Diego, who is down to their 6th running back. I think that our secondary will be okay.
