THE BCD Prelim Chiefs Mock

Damn we still have a lot needs and really need to pick up some key free agents this year. I think WR might be addressed through trade or FA. I wouldn't be surprised to see Welker in a Chiefs uniform.

1. Phil Taylor DT Baylor - WR and OLB are also options here, but those are more likely to be found through FA. We take our Vince Wilfork here and Edwards is now free to backup all 3 DLine positions.

2. Sam Acho OLB Texas - Great compliment to Hali and with Taylor getting a push up the middle will benefit Acho greatly in his career in KC. He has a nice sack against the #1 but over rated OT in the upcoming draft during the Senior Bowl.

3. Pat Devlin QB Delaware - The last guy from Delaware didn't turn out to be too bad and I'm a believer in taking a QB somewhere every year. The Chiefs are also in need of a back up QB since Croyle most likely will not return.

4. Dion Lewis - RB Pittsburgh - Had a down 2010 season, but would be a nice replacement for TJ if he can get back to his 2009 form.

5. Zane Taylor C Utah - A position of need and Taylor is good value in the 5th.

6. Mario Harvey - ILB Marshall - Could be a good special teamer and challenge Belcher eventually.

7. Terron Sanders - NT FL - Another big body to help stop the run in the mold of a Shaun Smith and take over for Edwards in 12.

If we take a QB in any round outside of the, I'd rather take Christian Ponder in the second, or Andy Dalton in the fifth.

I also think center has to be addressed through free agency, or in the first three rounds of the draft.

I'll take Ponder in the 2nd, but I'm not liking Dalton right now.

I see your point with a center, but the Vikes got a solid C in the 6th last year. I'm also fine with picking a G and letting him slide over after sitting for a year. We might see Asamoah slide over to C next year anyways so picking a C depends on what they plan on doing with Asamoah and Waters.

Unless a center is of the quality of a Maurkice Pouncey or Alex Mack, I think that spending a top three round pick on a center is unnecessary. The position is devalued in the draft unless it's a guy of that level, and they usually go in the later stages of the first round. Once you get past that, there is usually a handful of quality centers in the mid-rounds.

I still think that the Chiefs screwed themselves by giving up their fifth round pick last season to move up for Moeaki. They could have had Tennant with that pick, who most likely would be starting for the team in 2011.

Wisniewski is a nice player, but he's not Pouncey or Mack. In fact, the guy didn't even play center this past year, but was at the guard slot. I think you've got to look at him as a Mike Pouncey (the other brother whose also in this draft, not Pittsburgh Steeler Maurkice) type of player, but without the size and strength. And we've already got one first round offensive guard playing a different position on this team.

He's a finesse guard like Rod Hudson, but we've already got one of those on the roster in Lilja.

Probably, but it's not a recent occurrence.

They gave up a fifth to move up eight positions from the top of the fourth to the bottom of the third to select Moeaki. However, there were four high quality tight ends still on the board at that point and they would have ended up with one of them (and Moeaki was most likely going to be there with their pick). They could have used that fifth rounder on Matt Tennant, who was an absolute stud at BC for his entire career. Saints picked him instead and from all accounts really like the guy.

He'd have been the heir apparent at the center position, but instead, we trade up for another tight end for the second year in a row losing yet another draft pick. And I don't care if it's a late rounder. With as many holes and lack of talent that this team has, they can't afford to give away picks wherever they may be.

The Saints getting Tennant and Graham was a pretty nice haul.

Even if we sign a free agent WR I find it inexcusable to not draft at least one WR. Every single WR on this team except Bowe is replaceable. We need at least 2 new receivers.

I'd love to have Dalton.

And, WR is a huge need. One needs to be taken in the draft, and probably another one via trade/FA.

I don't know...

Kevin Curtis ran a 4.35 at the Combine and scored the second highest Wonderlic (three tied for that mark). The fact that he got a nut pulled in September and was able to play in December speaks volumes.

How many of you ****ing fat asses would get one of their balls yanked and then show up to play professional football two months later?

The dude is ten times anyone on this board.

I love it when professional football players are compared to everyday joes. So relevant. So spot on.

Who cares how a professional athlete fairs against a normal person????
