Early afternoon bullshit: the Chiefs in post-Manning era
Peyton Manning has 1 more year at most IMO. I think he'll play next year, but after that he's done. I think there's a 30% chance he hangs 'em up tonight if he wins, but hopefully the Donkey's lose.
This begs the question...how do you feel about the Chiefs in the post Manning era? Keep in mind Brady is winding down too. He looked horrific in his last game and it begs the question of if he can win on the road in the playoffs. I think that once Manning retires Denver will fall to the depth's of mediocrity. They'll be a 6-8 win team at best. I don't believe in Brock Assweiler. I think the Chargers will be a little worse than last year. Ken Whisenhunt leaving is a huge loss for them IMO. Obviously you have teams like the Colts and Ravens who will always be in the thick of it, but I think that we're going to have a lot of chances to be in the postseason in the near future. I like how Dorsey is building this thing and I think his draft picks from year 1 will show much more next year. I think we are in a good position. Obviously we aren't beating Manning now, but build this team up so that we can take over when he's done. We have the GM IMO. We have the coach. We have the QB. Hell Russell Wilson, Tom Brady in his first SB appearance, Big Ben in his first SB appearance, Trent Dilfer, Rex Grossman..all of these guys were game managers and I think Alex Smith can be a better version of those guys when they were in those particular SB's. Either way I'm ready for the ride. Go Seahawks! |
