Somehow, I doubt that posting (on a Kentucky site) that Kansas football fans stormed the field when it was actually Kansas players who stormed the field is a fireable offense.

True, nobody cares what she writes. Her Twitter has a paltry 4K followers. I just find it odd how she can't admit she lied when the evidence is right there for others to see it. Why be so prideful? Even the Kentucky fans were ripping her for being a moron and they wanted to make fun of KU.

You'd think a major news outlet like yahoo would monitor these "blogs" a bit better than they do. Sure it's funny to poke fun at a fan base for doing something goofy.

But to call them "losers" and then completely make up something that would allow you to call said people "losers" is borderline fireable.

Something they should be examining.

Coach Self would ask him why he didn’t make curfew and he’d say, “Because the club was crackin’!” Everyone would laugh and he’d make B-Rush run a little bit.

Iowa State is a three point dog to Tulsa. Does Rhoads keep his job next year if he loses this game?

Declining Student Attendance Hits Georgia
At Campuses Across the Country, More Reasons Than Ever to Skip the Game

The Georgia student section on Saturday against North Texas.

Athens, Ga.

The scene at home football games here at the University of Georgia is almost perfect. The tailgate lots open at 7 a.m. Locals brag of the bar-per-capita rate. The only commodities in greater abundance than beer are the pro-Bulldogs buttons that sorority girls wear.

There's just one problem: Some students can't be bothered to come to the games.

Declining student attendance is an illness that has been spreading for years nationwide. But now it has hit the Southeastern Conference, home to college football's best teams and supposedly its most fervent fans, giving athletics officials reason to fret about future ticket sales and fundraising.

As it turns out, Georgia students left empty 39% of their designated sections of Sanford Stadium over the last four seasons, according to school records of student-ticket scans. Despite their allocation of about 18,000 seats, the number of students at games between 2009 and 2012 never exceeded 15,000.

Winning isn't even necessarily a solution. The average student crowd to see last year's Georgia team—which finished the season ranked No. 5—was almost 6,000 short of maximum capacity. Even at Alabama, 32% of student seats went unused by students between 2009 and 2012, when the Crimson Tide won three national championships. Alabama coach Nick Saban wrote a flattering letter last week in the student paper to recruit students back....

Not the first article I've read on the decline of interest in college football. Realignment and the destruction of tradition by administrators who have minimal ties to institutions are now taking a toll.

Happened much faster then many thought as well.

According to the article, it's been a problem around the country for years. It seems that nobody really cared about it until it started affecting SEC schools. From what I read, it sounds like there are plenty of people who want those seats if the students aren't going to use them.

Good point. They're eliminating networks devoted to college football due to the lack of interest.

EDIT: Sorry about that. Evidently, they're actually CREATING entire networks centered around college football. My mistake.

Congrats to the Big 12. For the first time in years, they won't be the only major conference with a team to go winless against FBS competition.

Televisions have networks dedicated to every interest imaginable. Time Warner spent the entire summer engaged in battles with sports networks trying to get on the air. Unfortunately for some of these "future college football" networks the ship may have sailed.
