Why people laugh at Creationists

Taking a lead from Killer Clown I thought I'd create a alternative thread to post some videos I like...

[EDIT New video here]

So on with the show:

Here's the Kent Hovind Theory:

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions simply because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

That's assuming you understand reality. No small task.

There is a reason David Brower used Isiaah to further his cause . I had the pleasure of meeting him on his birthday coming out of a Bart Station.
Science doesn't exclude people of faith. It excludes faith.

You are talking about people. Not science.

"I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" - Frank Turek. For all of you out there who are legitimate critical thinkers. There is FAR more evidence for creationism than anything else... not even close

I've watched him debate too and read both the book and watched the DVDs. I know more about his argument than you do apparently. Debate is not the "end all" you think it is.

Unwarranted arrogance at its finest He puts forth a spirited argument from the "Deist" stance. He offers no more than William Lane Craig, Dinesh D'Souza, Douglas Wilson and several others. Go on thinking you stumbled upon something special and no one else has spent any time looking into this subject~

People:

It's around the year 1900 and women are largely considered second class citizens, even in this country. They are viewed as weak and intellectually inferior to men in most ways. Their views are often ignored by society and their progress in hampered.

Science:

In 1903 Marie Curie is awarded the Nobel prize in physics.

Sure, they do overlap because humans are part of a society. She was the first woman to be honored in that way and probably not the first one who should have been. But the stuff you're talking about has everything to do with people and nothing to do with science. As bigoted as humans sometimes are, the science was undeniable.
