****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

No chance they leap Bama. They lost on the road to the #4 team in the country. We lost to the uh, 22nd? ranked team at home.

Either way, it doesn't matter. They either knock off Auburn and rake it in or they lose and play in the cotton bowl.

I don't disagree that we won't leap Bama....but don't make it sound like we lost to a creampuff.

While they may have been ranked at #22 when we played them, they aren't now. And remember they just beat Clemson who was #6 in the BCS.

I have believed all along our only road to a decent Bowl was the CCG and a win there. If we lose to Auburn badly, don't even look for the Cotton Bowl to take us.

The Cotton Bowl is obligated to take the SEC Champ game loser.

I'm not saying USC is a terrible team, but they aren't Auburn.

Yeah, I was playing it through in my mind as the seconds ticked off last night. I'm expecting us to stay at 5.

I'd take South Carolina any day of the week on a neutral field against Auburn.

Auburn is the flukiest good team I've seen in a long time...they are so one dimensional and have a Golden horseshoe jammed up their collective asses.

Sure they had a round of fluke wins, but they got the job done. SC failed to seal the deal in at least one game they should of won. I'll take the overachiever over a choker.

I do think you're underestimating what they've accomplished and while SC probably has more talent, they fail to capitalize on it while the Gusbus has installed and ran a very effective system perfectly.

Either way it really doesn't matter, as Alabama being ranked 1 spot higher than Mizzou today means nothing in the final standings.

What Malzahn has done in his first year at Auburn is nothing short of a miracle.

^ This. Had the Georgia player knocked the Hail Mary pass down instead of up and/or had Alabama's normally reliable kicker made even one FG we would not even be talking about Auburn. Not taking anything away from what they have accomplished, but lets not pretend like they are world beaters.

SC is the better team between the two and Missouri, starting a freshman QB and missing their best CB, lost to them in double OT. I think Missouri will get more love from the voters and polls if they beat Auburn in the SEC Championship on a "neutral" field.

You're seriously overrating a small sample size. If not for two 1-1000 plays Auburn is a three loss team. And if not for Gene Chizik's incompetence (surely you remember him at Iowa State), that's a really good team last year, too.

Their season just shows what can happen over a limited sample and moving from awful to competent coaching.

He made the right decision. In that situation they had a better chance of scoring on a two-point conversion than they did of winning in overtime. They were shredding tOSU's defense.

The biggest mistake they made was not utilizing their QB's mobility. That is a situation tailor made for a sprint option passing play.
