Here's the number of people who've lost their coverage due to the ACA.

The GOP has been reiterating 5 million Americans will lose their healthcare coverage thanks to Obamacare, based on a figure of 4.7 million.

Turns out, the actual number is 10,000 in 18 counties. In a nation of 300 million+ and over 3,000 counties.

Of the 4.7 million the GOP has claimed will lose coverage, half can renew their 2013 plans thanks to an adjustment made by the Obama administration, another 1.5 million have access to tax credits and Medicaid, and everybody else will have access to an affordable plan where they live -- except for 10,000 people.

That's not good information for those 10,000 people, and adjustments should be made to provide some options for those people. And all behemoths like the ACA have some collateral damage, but again, something should be done to provide these folks options.

But a plan designed to insure 30 million people over ten years and bend the cost curve of health coverage has a much smaller imprint (about 500 times smaller) than many of the detractors of the ACA.

10,000. Those are the people whose cancellation notices truly left them in the cold under the ACA. 99% otherwise have ample options.

If, after taking your blanket, someone tells you that there's a blanket with your name on it at the top of that mountain over there if you're willing to climb to the peak and you haven't made the trip yet, you're going to get cold even if we distort the meaning of the word "covered" and pretend you still are.

Weren't most of the people without healthcare insurance (I think the number being used lately is 30 million) prior to Obamacare already covered in the pre-ACA world using this new definition of the word? I mean, unless they both had a pre-existing condition and weren't eligible for a group plan, they were "covered" even if they decided that they couldn't afford to buy a plan, right? If so, why did we need the ACA for anyone other than those with pre-existing conditions?

What part of which post did you think you were paraphrasing, exactly?
From what I've seen from you in this thread you can put 1,000,000 strikes on me and it won't amount to jack crap.

Well I'm saying irresponsible sex. It may be awesome till you catch something. And then you get to be covered and treated for it because pre-existing conditions now apply.
