Here's why the CBO is a joke...

Remember this estimate during the Obamacare discussion? Of course you don't. They didn't have it. It wasn't until after the disaster is on us that they revise their estimate to match reality...

The CBO is a joke...

From what I understand, the CBO is only allowed to calculate the cost of a bill within the parameters set by those who want it scored. So even though it is a nonpartisan body, a result reflecting what the bill's creator wants can be built into the scoring mechanism.

That's why the CBO is a joke.

Thanks for that clarification. This is important. Every time some pie in the sky progressive comes up with a program, they march out and give us some bogus CBO numbers claiming non-partisanship and pretending like the numbers mean something. Worse, these people sometimes actually believe the numbers are meaningful - as if they can wave a magic wand and say the magic words "CBO" and suddenly their argument is fail proof.

Let's hope this foolishness ends with this report. The CBO is a joke and its figures mean absolutely nothing, particularly when dealing with the theoretical budgets of the future.

CBO report is worthy. A BS analysis of it is not, other than to expose it and encourage the seeking out of accurate information.
