Obama on killing the innocent

Give him credit. He can act.

He sees abortion as some sort of good fun though.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/penn...yal-god-s-will

At the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, President Barack Obama said that “killing the innocent” is the “ultimate betrayal of God’s will.”

But the president was talking about terrorism, not abortion:

“Extremists succumb to an ignorant nihilism that shows they don’t understand the faiths they claim to profess, for killing the innocent is never fulfilling God’s will. In fact, it is the ultimate betrayal of God’s will,” Obama said.

Yet Obama is a long-time supporter of abortion rights.

OK, I didn't realize all opinions must be given only after putting ourselves in the role of political consultant.

I think a National Prayer Breakfast is dumb.
I would like to see a president decline the invitation.

On a side note, this event is heavily conservative. Yes, he would catch hell for not attending, but Obama's not gaining any support going there. He's going out of (unfortunate) tradition.

We're on the same page here. He joined Trinity United Church, a very politically advantageous move, shortly after he started his political career. His father was a non-religious muslim and, more importantly, his mother was agnostic. I'm highly skeptical that he's a real believer. But like you say, we can't really tell by observing.

President Obama has kept up with the tradition of hosting a National Prayer Breakfast by inviting guests from 130 nations and a collection of Congressmen and Senators.

Obama, whose own association with controversial priest Reverend Jeremiah Wright came under scrutiny during the 2008 election, talked about how his faith helps guide his decisions while in office.

‘In my life, He directed my path to Chicago and my work with churches who were intent on breaking the cycle of poverty in hard-hit communities there,’ he said during the 62nd annual breakfast.

‘And I’m grateful not only because I was broke and the church fed me, but because it led to everything else. It led me to embrace Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

‘It led me to Michelle- the love of my life- and it blessed us with two extraordinary daughters. It led me to public service. And the longer I serve, especially in moments of trial or doubt, the more thankful I am of God’s guiding hand.’
