Have you ever changed an opinion?

In reading in this forum, have you ever changed an opinion on any topic as a result of your own conversations or by observing the ones that go on here?

I don't think there is really a right or wrong answer, but I am just curious how many people have had a change in the way they think about or view any of the topics discussed.

The poll is a simply yes or no, so feel free to elaborate on the number of times this may have happened and the subjects that it happened with if you so choose.

There have been many great floods in the earth's 5 billion estimated year history. None have been caused by man or cow farts. Solar flares and pole shifts are the cause of climate change. Man's emissions haven't done a Damn thing to the ozone.
Mars had severe climate change with no man in sight. That's merely profiteering for the political ruling class and a means to bypass the 4th amendment and control the populace and it's property.

Pollution may cause cancer and make air and water Gross, but the climate change argument is a fraud.

Your opinion appears to be primarily based on a sincere belief that humans influencing the climate is impossible, and that the scientists suggesting that it IS possible must simply be the toadies of those who want to "bypass the 4th amendment and control the populace and it's property."

I disagree on both counts. I don't, of course, reject the possibility that climate change is due to non-human factors, but would prefer to see more data compiled and more analysis done before we make dramatic policy changes.

You seem dead-set that this is all some kind of Al Gore fantasy. You might want to pull your head up out of the sand and think about why scientists at NASA and the National Oceanographic and Atmosephere Administration give a damn about such things.

There is no doubt that there is politics in science, or science in politics, but IMHO it's very dangerous and foolish to simply pick one side very early on in an active scientific debate and just discard it as politically motivated.

NASA and NOAA are dependent on the government for funding. With funding comes influence. It's just the nature of the beast.
I agree to not change policy when all the data isn't in. So why have they been doing exactly that?
If you don't see the 4th amendment ramifications, perhaps it's your cabesa in the sand.

Opposite. To clarify I am theistic and don't believe we came from monkeys. But I think the world is probably billions of years old and that species do adapt over time. The monkey-to-human stuff, nope.

The IPCC isn't dependent on US government funding. Neither are the ~200 other worldwide organizations that support anthropological climate change:

http://opr.ca.gov/s_listoforganizations.php

Climate change isn't a US government idea.

I see what you did there.
Maybe since politicians are heavily invested in "green industry".
BP and Shell may by a senator lunch now and then, it's companies like Solyndra that the politicians are funding with tax dollars.
Democrat law makers are personally heavily invested in green energy.

Nobody claims that man came from monkeys. You're confusing the fact that humans and monkeys had a common ancestor. Big difference.

Sure, but under the Bush Administration, these scientists were complaining that the pressure was coming in the OTHER direction -- telling them to shut up about, downplay, and/or simply NOT talk about climate change. So who, exactly, is the one trying to create that "myth" and/or say that it's humans causing it?

I think because enough scientists with enough different backgrounds and sources of income have been agreeing that climate change exists, and that it's causes are very likely to be human in origin, or at least in large part human in origin.

I don't really see this as a Fourth Amendment issue.

So, what....people are having their assets "seized" (perhaps only in the prevented from using sense, which can also be a form of seizure) because they produce too much greenhouse gases or something? Is that the argument?

Better inform John Kerry and King Obama. They say that the debate is settled and to disagree with that means you think the earth is flat.
Welcome to the flat earth society
