The numbers have been declining for a full year - that is, throughout all four seasons.

I'm a big 2nd ammendment supporter, but yeah, the Chicago murder rate was dropping before CCW was approved. I'm sure some kind individual will do a study and find the root cause.

Here's the question you have to ask, though: Do you think the drop in crime is entirely, mostly, partly, or not at all because of the passage of the new gun laws?

Before you answer, here's an article from the AP (via Yahoo News) that shows that the Chicago homicide rate was indeed high in the first quarter of 2013, but then dropped all year to actually finish 2013 below average. Therefore, the homicide rate has been dropping steadily in Chicago since the second quarter of 2013. Also, here is another article from last July saying that the concealed carry licenses wouldn't be issued until 2014, and sure enough, here is a third from February 28th of this year - barely a month ago - showing that the first were being sent out just then.

So given that no one in Illinois had a legal concealed carry license until at least two months into the three months covered by bizpacreview's article, and that those same statistics show the continuation of a trend that started a full year ago, could the shrinking homicide rate logically be the result of the passage of the concealed carry laws?

Or is it more likely that bizpacreview is deliberately warping the story to advance their own agenda?

That couldn't have happened. Didn't pete tell us that the newly armed residents of Chicago are stopping all the murders?

I think you should walk through the Chi town ghettos & try & talk some sense into these armed blacks. Be a man,ask them to hand over their guns.

And one year is not a change in behavior.

The Chicago mayor told them they live in the city and get use to it.

Here's a thought I will throw out there, cosmo listen up~

Rahm Emanuel and his administration are trying to make the numbers in crime and education appear as if he is doing something right, you see he is going to run for the Senate or even president one day.

Then when he runs he can show fraudulently I might add, that he improved Chicago and that he can do the same to the country. And knowing the Dem's they will worship and fall at his feet. Of course Rahm will promise them free things like more food stampss, more money to the poor, free Obamacare, free free free everything.

What do you think cosmo?
