Nah. Those podunk losers care more about color coordinating T-shirts than the actual game.

James Harden: 14-47 from the floor in the first two games of this series, and that doesn't even begin to address how badly he's been punked defensively. Three straight choked series now dating back to the 2012 Finals. Face it, this guy is an overrated product of regular-season reffing, and when he's not getting his flop calls in the playoffs, he vanishes.

You ever actually been to a game there? Closest thing to a college environment you'll see in the NBA. Incredible atmosphere. Portland is also pretty good in this regard.

Harden, meanwhile, is just a third option at best who is elevated to near first-option production in the regular season by the officiating, which fools casual fans and front offices around the league into thinking he's better than he actually is.

Yep. 26 a game is a mirage. I suppose the 3+ threes he makes a game are tipped in by the refs. He has played like shit, and he's a terrible defender. But, he is a premier offensive player on most nights.

Harden's career WS/48 rate is 8th among active players in the NBA right now (behind LeBron, Paul, Duncan, Dirk, Durant, Wade, and Ginobili). Has struggled in the playoffs for the last two seasons as a #1 option, but he's a really good player overall. His normally great offensive efficiency alone makes the Rockets a good team.

Not questioning him as an offensive player, but like Melo, the defensive liability he comes with drops him quite a bit down on the list of players I'd want to see on my team. He's so far ended up with dashed playoff hopes along with other guys that have the same reputation for being soft on defense- many times more for lack of effort or caring than ability.
I also get it's a high high bar of guys that are + level elites on both ends.
