Hold On - Obamacare's About to Get Even Worse

http://patterico.com/2014/05/28/holiday-news-dump/

“For decades,” Mr. Biebl said, “employers have been assisting employees by reimbursing them for health insurance premiums and out-of-pocket costs. The new federal ruling eliminates many of those arrangements by imposing an unusually punitive penalty.”

Actually it's no laughing matter for small businesses. The ruling by the IRS late last year on HRA plans is going to really screw up some bottom lines. I wouldn't expect you to know or understand anything about that though.

I admit, I don't know or understand anything about the vague reference you made or if it has anything to do with the OP.

I know you don't little parrot. Basically an employer can no longer give their employees a monthly stipend to pay for health insurance that is bought on the open market. It doesn't comply with the rules for "market reforms" under ACA. It basically forces employers to purchase an expensive group medical plan or face stiff penalties. See section D subsection. Big government at it's finest!

I'm not trying to be rude, but I made it through:
D. Affordable Care Act Guidance
1. Market Reforms – In General
The Affordable Care Act contains certain market reforms that apply to group health plans (the market reforms).(2) In accordance with Code § 9831(a)(2) and ERISA §732(a),the market reforms do not apply to a group health plan that has fewer than two participants who are current employees on the first day of the plan year, and, in accordance with Code §9831(b), ERISA § 732(b), and PHS Act §§2722(b) and 2763, the market reforms also do not apply to a group health plan in relation to its provision of excepted benefits described in Code §9832(c), ERISA §733(c) and PHS Act §2791(c).
and then it was

Obama and his ACA!

Before Obama and his ACA we had no health insurance and paid about $500.00 per month through several PAP's and a local pharmacist for the wife and my medications.

Insert the ACA and we still have no health insurance because we can't afford it. With the preexisting conditions of both of us, the premiums for us is a little over $ 1600.00 for a 60/40 plan, the cheapest plan for us. We must pay our deductible's close to $ 4000.00 and then pay 40% of our medications.

Our wonderful ACA has allowed the drug manufacturers to raise prices on their medications because everybody will have insurance, BIG $$$ for BIG DRUG COMPANY'S.

BIG DRUG COMPANY'S have kicked us out of the PAP's due to everybody getting insurance now which means they will get BIG $$$ for medications instead of helping out those who are in need. So by getting kicked out of the PAP's and the increased prices to the GREEDY BASTARD PHARMACY companies we are having to shell out an additional $ 1200.00 ( + ) per month just to stay where we were at on medications before the ACA took in effect.

Before ACA $ 500.00 per month plus paying our own HC $ 6000.00 per year +

So currently we are at $ 1700.00 plus for medications just to live $ 20,400.00 yearly and paying our own HC.

To use the ACA with our conditions, we are at $ 1600.00 + the 40% of all prescriptions , another $ 680.00 per month plus paying the $ 4000.00 out of pocket deductibles per both of us. That is a whopping $ 2280.00 month average or $ 27360.00 per year to use the Affordable Care Act.

ACA has helped a lot of people but it has screwed a lot of people in the process. And some like us, it has literally taken us farther away in total $$ to get HC.

All ACA has done is made politicians deeper into BIG DRUG COMPANY'S pockets and made profits soar for BIG DRUG COMPANY'S!

Obamacare

I'm amused when I read the Joan Walshes and Eugene Robinsons of the world celebrating their victory as though Obama hasn't repealed the economy crushing stuff until after the election. Once they start actually implementing the program, and making people actually pay for it, the thing will fold.

I don't think it will ever go away. What I do know is that it will get warped as special interests pick the thing over and make things better for themselves. In the end, the middle class will get absolutely screwed. You'd have to be seriously stupid to be in the middle class and vote for Democrats. Not like the Republicans have given us much better alternatives the last couple go-arounds... but still...

You know, I'm not an incredibly smart man, but it seemed pretty clear to me that the whole point of the ACA was to collapse America's health system as we know it to bring about Universal Healthcare.

Take that for what it's worth.

Not at all. Some would like to believe that there is some devious plan to bring about single payer, but the problem with that is that the CBO found that private health insurance is much more affordable than a single payer system - which is why Obama backed away from single payer, and why you can't get any Democrats to actually fight for it.

There is going to be no universal healthcare system in the US. It's virtually impossible given the complex dynamics of healthcare in this country. People can, and will dream, but reality is a bitch. When this thing collapses, you'll see states do what Vermont and Massachusetts are doing, and stepping in with state plans. Which is what should be happening in the first place, but everyone wants a free ride, so why do any heavy lifting when Democrat Jesus is promising to build an ark big enough for the world to ride in.

Man, people are going to look back at the last 16 years and laugh at how stupid we were.
