You talk about broken homes, well locking up young black men for victimless crimes tends to do that. Also, once that person gets out but now has a criminal record even if that record was for simple drug possession rather then theft or assault, then the job prospects are heavily truncated and the person is more likely to fail back into criminality to support themselves.

Ending the drug war will help a lot

Here's an idea for all races. Stop committing crime. If you don't like drug laws, work to get them changed. It is starting. No doubt there are abuses and injustices, but you are less likely to stay out of the joint if you simply obey the law. Some people have a shitty lot in life. A lot of those people work their asses off and pull themselves out. We should be showing their stories, not showing scumbags looting stores. Flame away.

I prefer the former. You just keep on wasting the money, lives, and rights in a fruitless pursuit on stamping out a behavior that you will never be able to do.

We can all agree that alcohol prohibition was a failure and enriched criminals, what I don't understand is how come you can't take the next step and realize other prohibitions are also failures and enriching criminals.
I hold out for those who don't start on drugs. Those we are able to save from that bad end. Is it perfect No. But if we can keep a few young people from taking that road, its worth it. Dope is clearly the drug that gets them on that path, the gateway drug. Dopers claim its not true but the preponderance of evidence is that it is. And you won't see a sorrier lot that meth heads and the damage they do through crime to get that next fix.

Wait what? Dopers deny that dope is the gateway to dope?

Are YOU high?

Seriously?

He was "on the scene" on MSNBC this morning, I just wanted to die, he was spewing fact after fact... trouble is, not one ounce of it has been proven.

This cultural divide isnt going away anytime soon.

Uh, blacks only make up about 13% of the population in this country.

What does that tell you?

I'd ask if they've ordered more toe-tags, but alas I'm sure they won't need any. More of the same old shit, they'll high-jack some business and the cops will just go the tear gas route.

It's really kind of boring for all the coverage they're getting. All we know at this point is some ****ing useless thug got shot by a cop after robbing a store, thumping a store clerk, beating a cop, and everybody in his neighborhood thinks he was headed for higher education. Mix in some tear gas and Al and Jesse getting some camera time, and it's little more than groundhog day!

MSNBC is a low-quality version of a retarded comedy channel... Hard to get that much stupid in one room, but they find a way to pack it in...
