Alex is not the worst QB in the league. He’s somewhere in bottom middle. But the results with a guy like that at the helm is predictable. Look who’s left in the cage match: Three sure first ballot HOF QB’s and possibly this year’s NFL MVP (Ryan in Atlanta). Who got bounced? Osweasle, a rookie in Dallas, and Alex. It’s especially frustrating with Alex, because he’s being paid like other elite NFL QBs. He just doesn’t measure up in crunch time. Somebody else on the CP brought this up but it’s worth repeating. You can go back all the way to Mackovic getting KC to the playoffs in 1986 against the Jets, and look at the QB match ups for KC vs. the Opponent. Guess what? Arguably every single time, we lost to a much better QB. Here’s the list:

1986: Pat Ryan> Kenney/Sackledge
1990: Marino> DeBerg
1991: Jim Kelley> DeBerg/Vlasic
1992: Humphries> Krieg
1993: Kelly> Montana
1994: Marino> Montana
1995: Harbaugh> Bono
1997: Elway> Grbac
2003: Manning> Green
2006: Manning> Green
2010: Flacco> Casshole
2013: Luck> Smith
2015: Brady> Smith
2016: Rapistburger>Smith

Over the past 14 years, every AFC Super Bowl team has been led by either Brady, Manning, Rapistburger or Flacco, all better QBs than Smith. And there’s many better AFC QBs on the way up who will only improve including Mariotta, Luck and (most scary) Carr. Until Clark figures this out, what you saw this year is going to be as good as this business model will produce. They may have even over-produced this year.
Great minds think a like George. Here is what I posted last night.

One thing I forgot to mention: Yesterday was 50 years to the day that KC played in the first Super Bowl vs. Green Bay. 50 years later, both teams were in the playoffs. That's pretty cool. Only one had the talent to win, just like 50 years ago.

Anyone think the Chiefs should have gone for the onsides kick at the end? They only forced one three and out all game. Seems like a missed opportunity to me.

I was hoping for a rematch (Packers), but Chiefs. Good read, thanks for these all season.

Nice write-up, as always George, thank you.

To top it all off, for me, I got out to my car with my 3 buddies afterward and discovered my car key was missing. It broke in the morning and was off the keychain. When that happened I thought, "that's gonna be bad at some point." I didn't realize how soon, and how bad.

After walking all the way back and deep into the stadium for lost and found, and finding nothing, I waited an hour for AAA to get clearance to come into the lot to tow me home. Apparently there are some pretty heavy tow company politics at One Arrowhead Drive.
Worst of all I had to send Sedated and my other friend to go find an Uber. OTWP and I rode home in the tow truck's cab.

After it was dropped in the driveway I cracked two Coors Lights and guzzled them then hit the sack at 2am. I had to get up at 5:30 for a business trip.

I'm likely taking the off season off. I had a feeling this might happen, but I was hoping we'd dominate. We should have lost the regular season games to CAR, ATL, SD opener and maybe Den in Denver. So, our luck ran out I guess. ChiefS

Epic fail with this analysis of the game.

Total lack of any thought on any phase of the game other than the qb? Really?

And its a total fail because he did bring his team back and tie up the game in the 4th quarter so I have zero idea of wtf your talking about.

Apparently you were watching the Packers-Cowboys game, dipstick.

The Chiefs game was NEVER tied in the fourth quarter.

Go crawl back under your troll rock.

WTF are you talking about troll, we tied it up until the ref's took away the 2 point conversion you idiot.

Cant take any criticism of your precious analysis?

Ben has all day to throw and zero pressure (please show all you videos of him under pressure?) cant can you. so to compare the 2 as a zero sum analysis is stupid since our qb was under pressure.

Great another Madden child who cant watch a game without blaming a single player in the ultimate team sport.

What phase of the game were we better? Please name one? You cannot.

Yes, Alex missed a couple of throws and it made a difference but your blind spot for the rest of the team is not only unbearable but revealing.
