I'm psyched. I admit I'm totally unsure of what the outcome of the game will be. In my picks for the week I just went the homer way with the Chiefs. I think they CAN win the game, but I'm not sure if they WILL. I can't wait until tommorrow.

Well put...I'm not as nervous as past....I think they can, but it's mile high. i like the local commentator's quote...." They respect each other, and the games are always close..."
By no means does Denver take us lightly...I know for a fact they got back from Faiduhville @3am, and the coaches slept in the training room, and started at 6 that next Monday.... |

Gman - I feel that way before every game, we could win or we could lose, that is the good thing about being a Chiefs fan. We are good enough to win against anyone.

I'm in full-homer mode. I'm so bad right now that I'm envisioning a big game for two of the big boys (free-agent linemen) that Carl signed this year--Jeff Blackshear and Steve Martin. Steve Martin? Man, you know I'm a homer if I think he's going to have an impact! He's a 5-year veteran DT who played at Jefferson City and Mizzou. Supposed to be athletic, I'm just hoping he can keep Dan Williams and Chester fresh.
Blackshear is the very large guard that has been filling in for Szott. He might be a plow for us tomorrow. Go Carl! Go Chiefs! |

Morphius - True, but with our three previous games I was almost SURE when I picked that I would be right. Indy is Indy (although they may be a tad worse than I thought), Tennessee had the Adelphia string of wins (which turned out to be a much closer game than I thought - another team that's overrated), and SD was SD. I have no clue about this game, especially with Frerrotte.

By the way, I was not in homer mode against Indy or Tennessee before the games. I knew that we would give both teams a tough game, but I didn't think we had a very good chance to beat them.

Same with me, Dan. It's hard to be in full Homer-mode when the last time you saw the Chiefs play was against Pittsburgh last year and since then all you hear is bad stuff about the team. The San Diego game was the first game I EVER saw any promise from our coaching staff. Maybe that's why I'm so optimistic about this game. Hopefully homerism isn't clouding my judgement, I wouldn't want to fall down the picks list because I was a blind homer.

i liked Elvis' attitude regarding POTW...Nonchalent..That's nice , it's just one week..."
He's starting to sound different in his interviews...He's starting to sound like a leader. Say what you want, but if he wasn't playing in KC, he'd be trying to beat us in Denver or Seattle. [This message has been edited by stevieray (edited 09-23-2000).] |

POTW?
Elvis is definitely one of the reasons for my optimism. I was probably his biggest critic after that spike incident in preseason. If he plays half as good as he did in the SD game for the rest of the season I'll be happy. |

What I meant was he was staying focused and poised...Remember the offense opened up after his comments befor the SD game. 5 TD's in one game is no fluke...The potential is there...The playcalling has to be advantagous to the other teams weaknesses...Grunnny is TOTALLY giving him props for his play and resilence...Have you noticed a different demeanor from the interviews on the Home Page?

Stevieray - I have a feeling that it is because he finally got that win. Plus I think Gun respects the D of SD, sure they were a little short at corner, but there front seven are always good. I'm looking forward to the game, anything can happen.

I haven't had audio on my internet connection until recently, so I don't know how Grbac used to sound, but he sure does sound confident now.
