I like the song. I don't get why so many people in here have to hate on new gen country either. If it's not twangy and if it doesn't give you a head ache to listen to it, then it's not real country. People keep posting Sturgill Simpson and Waylon Jennings, so I've given both of them a listen and for some reason I just can't stand that stuff. Now I do like Turnpike Troubadours, Whiskey Myers, and Chris Stapleton, all three of them would be considered red dirt. For some reason though the type of music Simpson and Jennings sing just makes my head hurt so bad.

Ubeja is provocative. You don't have to read his stuff or respond to him if you don't like it. I skim it, but don't usually follow his link to old time musicky people.

What is SRV's biggest hit....Texas Flood. Yep, a cover of Houston's Larry Davis's original.

Where are you getting mostly white people support the blues? That just isn't true.

Where did The Rolling Stones get that name? A 1951 Muddy Waters tune.

Pink Floyd....blues cats Pink Anderson and Floyd Council

Canned Heat...got that name from an old Tommy "Sold My Soul at them crossroads" Johnson.

Hank Williams was taught the guitar by a black neighbor.

Elvis's very first record was a cover of blues cat Big Boy Crydup's "That's Alright Mama".

And it goes on and on and on and.............

Not a racist bone in my body that's why this black guy knows all that white music. I listen to more rockabilly/hillbillie/country than I do funk/rap/hip hop.

Try talking the histories of sports, music and not talk the black influense it can't be done. I simply deal with how things actually are.

Talk NFL corner backs today, is it racist saying....all black...or simply reality?

When I talk about my black brothers it does come from experience, ha~~~~

One of the great listens is that old hick music from the Appalachians, while he isn't way back there he is one of Bob Dylan's favorites.

That....High Lonesome...sound.

it's Crudup. Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup, and my favorite version may be on Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells a Story album.
