I have been meaning to pick that one up for a while. Also the SRV Austin City Limits DVD is very good.

Another I just remembered is Eric Clapton - Live in Hyde Park.

Found a set the other night called The Cars Unlocked,it's a DVD/CD combo of rare live performances spanning 1977 thru 1987.The DVD also has clips from backstage as well as interviews and the like throughout the DVD.

If you were a Cars fan whatsoever I'd say you'd know most of the songs my favs that are included on the DVD are Candy-O,Moving In Stereo and Let The Good Times Roll.

The Band - The Last Waltz.
Pink Floyd the Wall
A Show of Hands-Rush
Roger Waters - In the Flesh (Live)
Eagles - Farewell Tour
Have and can vouch for the above. The Band is hands down the best of the lot.

A few others I love

Down from the Mountain - the tour of the 'O brother Where Art Thou' musicians.

Alison Krauss and Union Station - Live

Dylan - No looking back
Stones - Gimme Shelter - not jut a great concert [just ten seconds of Tina Turner will have you going HOLY SHIT!!] but a masterpiece of documentary making [by the Maysles brothers], including gripping coverage of the murder in the crowd and the Stones' reaction to it afterwards.

Elvis - 1. Aloha from Hawaii
2. 68 Comeback Special

Did you end up picking that one up? If you are a Gilmour/Floyd fan, "Remember That Night" is pretty damn good.

The Waters one is really good.

If you do end up picking one up, Remember That Night is the way to go. Graham Nash and David Crosby join in for a few of the tracks and Bowie shows up at the end.

I don't think power metal is your cup of tea, but the absolute best concert dvd I've seen is Blind Guardian's "Imaginations Through the Other Side of the Looking Glass." Superb in every way.

I'll have to look for that! I love BG! I saw them in December '03, with Symphony X opening for them, here in St. Louis (Sauget, IL, actually). They put on a great show.

Others I highly recommend:

Iron Maiden: Rock in Rio
Rush: Grace Under Pressure tour (very hard to find, but it shows up on Ebay once in awhile)
Rush: A Show of Hands
Alice Cooper: The Nightmare Returns (Constrictor tour)
Alice Cooper: Trashes the World
Nightwish: From Wishes to Eternity
Judas Priest: Priest Live (Turbo tour)
Styx: Caught in the Act
Triumph: Live at the US Festival
Def Leppard: In the Round, In Your Face Live
Motley Crue: Carnival of Sins (2005 reunion tour) -- I haven't seen the dvd yet, but I saw the live show, and it was amazing.

*I haven't seen Rush's "Rush in Rio" or "R30" yet, but I can imagine they are pretty amazing. I saw Rush live on the same tour during which they filmed the Rio concert, though, when it came through St. Louis.

I'm crying tears of jealousy. Blind Guardian and Symphony X at the same show?!? I would have punched old people to go to that.

If you like BG, you'll probably like Demons & Wizards. Have you heard them? Awesome! It's Hansi Kursch (from BG) and Jon Schaffer (from Iced Earth). Really, really good stuff. They've got two albums out that I know of.

And if you like Symphony X, check out Arjen Anthony Lucassen's Star One "Space Metal." It's a supergroup featuring Arjen (Ayreon), "Sir" Russell Allen (Symphony X), Floor Jansen (After Forever), and a couple other vocalists whose names momentarily escape me. All the songs are based on famous sci-fi movies, except for "Intergalactic Space Crusaders" (the rockingest song on it), which is based on a British sci-fi series, and the opening track "Set Your Controls" which is not based on anything but instead serves to introduce the theme of the album. The featured films include Star Wars, Star Trek IV, 2001: A Space Oddyssey, and Stargate, among others. Incredible music!

Oh, and if you're interested, Children of Bodom will be here March 30th.
