I guess it is a better reason to pay the upcharge. Paying extra for a damn making of DVD and a tin case was just STUPID.

I like it even less. Paying for a competitive advantage? It breaks the game.

Are they weapons you can eventually earn or can you ONLY get them by paying the upcharge?

In this case they are weapons you can eventually earn. But thanks to the xp system, having a competitive edge at the beginning can keep you in front of the pack permanently. At least, thats how I see it.

Good players can beat you with any weapon. The double XP lasts for the first week IIRC.

I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that no one will be that good during the first week of play.

A VIP status is required, even after migration. I migrated my old account and only 99 points were transfered :-/ -- I don't have a beta code as of yet.
I was in the COD4 beta and figured I would be getting a new beta code in my inbox for sure. Eh, whatever. I won't be buying this game anyhow. I really just want my xbl friends to see me online playing in the beta.

If you haven't, go to www.callofduty.com/points and enter your info.

If it works, you can then add the VIP & the other badge to your avatar, and within a day or two the beta code will be within your profile.

Sweet, I had a ton of points from CharlieOscarDelta.com. Just migrated my account over.

Guru, it says the if you just got VIP status you'll be in the next batch of beta tokens. You and I should have ours soon.
