I would recommend the following.

I also make a habit of stopping by marshall's,dsw and tj max to look at shoes

I didn't HATE those shoes, but I would take leather over suede any day, just for that reason.

If you treat suede shoes they can last a long time.
I would'nt go hunt'in in em, but for a semi casual occasion they can be great.
