Colts placed SS Bob Sanders on injured reserve with a torn left biceps, ending his season.

His season ends with three tackles and a pick in just two appearances. Beat reporter Philip B. Wilson speculates that the Colts will cut their losses with Sanders in the offseason to free up salary. 29 in February, Sanders is scheduled to make $2.275 million in 2010. He is injury prone but as any Iowa fan can tell you, when healthy, he is the centerfielder of a defense (he was POY only two years ago). This could be a possible buy low candidate to help our defense for a few years.

Bob Sanders' next contract should be paid per game, knowing that his availability is a liability.

How come when big guys get hurt all the time they don't get chastised for it? Sanders size has very very little if any to do with him getting injured. The guy isn't small or slender, he's short. There is a difference.

Sadly Bob Sanders' heart is bigger than his body

a small guy who plays waaaay bigger than he is can only last so long at a position like strong safety.

Not necessarily. They have Melvin Bullitt, who's actually pretty good himself. Right now they're just paying Sanders a big contract to be hurt.
