Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

There's more than enough evidence that he's earned the job.
Um, Charles had 80 yards on 9 carries plus a TD. Terrible.

Cassel proved himself to be a decent qb that for a stretch of games can be ok. That equals Damon Huard 2006 backup qb. Fine. Restructure his contract so he can be the veteran backup and draft a QB. Or dump his ass and get another veteran like a Kitna to hold the job until drafted qb is ready. 2 years is enough body of work to go on.

Nonsense.
His numbers improved after the Denver game...
Oddly...That's about the time where he started throwing the ball more often.

Cassel takes some stupid sacks and dumb ass intentional grounding calls. All he had to do was throw the ball over Bowe's head, but he proceeds to throw it thirty yards past him where no chief was. Everyone bitched about the call, but it was correct. If Flacco had done that we would have been calling for it, and rightly so.

But it's not the end of story by any stretch, and it's ridiculous to claim otherwise. As has been the case for 2 seasons, the Cassel bashers act reflexively instead of thinking. It's stupiidity on their part.

I'm obviously NOT advocating for Charles to be gone.
My point is simply that we can't reduce Cassel to one game.
Anymore than we can do it to Charles or Bowe.
Who both hurt this team today with their play.

I have no idea by what standards you measure a RB, but Charles was the only player on offense that brought playoff quality game for the Chiefs today. IMO. Yes, the fumble hurt. That's a single mistake, that resulted in 3 points, in an otherwise stellar game.

Meh, I'd like to see if we're actually going to have a season And if so are we going to get an 18 game season? That part I am still trying to figure out if it would be worth it. Should go with 17 game season for a few years and see how that would affect the game and then up it to 18.

My prediction now is we will have a better team but does not reflect our record. Depends on our QB for the most part. I want us to win in the playoffs that is a must for next year to be a success. This year we had success for going 10 & 6 winning the division. Next year new season new higher expectations.

I don't agree, he was given a game plan that was destined to fail. I said elsewhere that Weis checked out when he accepted the job in Florida. His heart wasn't in the job and most likely just wanted to leave making a statement.

Cassel is not the #1 QB in the league but he is a good QB and can work well for KC. Those that want to hate him for the game today are overlooking the Weis factor as well as the fact that the Chiefs played against 17 other people on the field all day long. Penalties that should have been called but weren't and penalties called that were pure BS.

The NFL decided before the game who they wanted to win and the game was called to expedite the plan of the league office.

I didn't say he was finished I said he played like shit period end of story. No one in their right mind can say a 20 passer rating, 70 yds passing and 3 INT's in a blow out playoff loss is good and he shouldn't be blamed.

Trees meet forest.

My point is simply that Cassel's future can't be determined solely on one game.
Even on a playoff game.

Oh my ****ing God. There are people here actually bashing Charles?? He only got the ball 9 times!! And with that got 80 yards and a TD. He did have a fumble but also CAUSED a fumble and recovered it. Some people here deserve to be Bronco fans.

I fully understand what point you're trying to make, and I think the inclusion of Charles is ridiculous. He accounted for about 75% of our offense today.

I'd also argue that taking the entire season into context, Cassel still didn't build much of a case. Yes, you can look at his stats and think he played well, but if you watched him play, and recognize the quality of teams he played well against, you's also see that he's nothing more than an average QB at best.
