Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

I'm sure that Baltimore didn't have anything to do with Cassel's performance.

We went further than anyone could ever wish for after last year, and even after the 0-4 Pre-Season.

I wanted the Chiefs to win as badly as anyone, but they were in over their heads this time around. Hopefully next year we will have addressed the weaknesses we have now and are ready to mount another run.

Today was a disaster, but it wasn't one player alone that lost the game, it was a team loss.

If the Vikings hire McDaniels I would immediately put Cassel out there as trade bait.

You can't even agree with yourself so why should we believe you don't think he's the answer?

I'm not bashing Charles. The larger point is about how stupid 1-game evaluations can be.

My point was that you were pointing to Manning having won a Super Bowl, but Manning had shitty games early on, too. For that matter, Flacco tossed up a 59.1 and an 18.2 in his first playoff year (with an 89.4 in between), and put up a 10.0 and 48.4 in last season's playoffs. The difference was that his team was able to win despite him because it's a veteran, seasoned team.

This isnt a 1 game evaluation. This is a season evaluation. He sucked against divisional opponents and he sucked in the playoffs. He has always been and will always be a backup QB. Belichik got him the hell out of dodge when his value was high. After this season his value is again high, thanks to the schedule, and its time for the Chiefs to get him the hell out of dodge.

You're entitled, but committing a turnover and dropping the passes hurt this team. How much it hurt the team can be debated. THAT it hurt the team...cannot. It's not even about Charles though.

I'd also argue that taking the entire season into context, Cassel still didn't build much of a case. Yes, you can look at his stats and think he played well, but if you watched him play, and recognize the quality of teams he played well against, you's also see that he's nothing more than an average QB at best.
A 3:1 TD-to-INT ratio isn't making a case? Being in the Top 10 in the league in TD passes isn't making a case? Being in the Top 10 in the league in INT's (fewest) isn't making a case? Being in the Top 10 in QB Rating isn't making a case? A better QB Rating than at least a half-dozen other QB's who everyone thinks is better than Cassel isn't making a case?

Then what the Hell is?

The strength of schedule argument is DUMB.
He didn't play well last year against an even weaker schedule.

Of course their D had something to do with it they are a very good D but they aren't that great against the pass and were ranked 27th in sacks.

The problem is Cassel didn't even play average he played ****ing horrible

Why is it dumb? We aren't going to play the likes of the Cardinals, Broncos, or Rams in the playoffs.

Fair enough.

And just to point out Manning's first playoff game. They played the Titans at home and lost 19-16. He was 19-42, 227 yds no INT's, no TD's but he had a rushing TD.

That is a million times better than Cassel's performance.

I said it earlier in this thread, and I'll say it again: It's sad how some people around here are jizzing in their pants because Cassel had a bad game today.
