Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

And please don't bring up blackledge I understand that mistake but you still need to keep trying in the draft till you eventually strike gold.
There are very few of those "dominant" QBs, which is why I think that fans crapping on their QB for not being one just doesn't make sense. Hell, even having a "dominant" QB doesn't guarantee any kind of dynasty. There have only been four quarterbacks who've won multiple Super Bowls since 1990:

Brady
Roethlisberger
Elway
Aikman

That's it.

When we decided to call more pass plays, guys got open. Cassel looked at the rush after his first read a lot of the time.

Not positive but I think charles sustained a injury on the toss that went for a loss

There is a lot of young talent on this team. Add a franchise QB and we could become an upper echelon team for 5-10 years, instead of being a flash in the pan.
Yeah, I agree and should have articulated this point more clearly. If want to have a consistent chance at winning a SB, we must have better than a Dilfer-level QB.

Hey, you guys remember when Cassel fumbled the football in Raven territory?

Whats that you say? Charles...Charles fumbled the football?

Well that just makes it okay then to have a potential scoring drive stop. Goddamn it Cassel, why didnt you recover that fumble?

Okay seriously. His fumble down inside our own 30 was flat inexcusable.

WTF? That wasnt Cassel either? Ohhh. McCluster did that. Well Cassel shouldve known better than to throw HIM the football.

But hey. Hey. How about all those times that Dwayne Bowe was open and didnt get the ball thrown his way. Eh? EHH?

Wut....

Oh Dwayne Bowe never got open? Not one single time did he get open? Proved himself as simply the benificiary of the league's #1 rush offense, nothing more you say? Well thats Cassel's fault too.

Okay, but nobody can deny the criminal act that Cassel committed in waving the FG team off and going for it on 4th and one with a ****ing toss that lost 3 yards.

Huh? Cassel didnt make that call?

Well Goddamn.

He at least couldve made a tackle on defense to keep their offensive plays under 70+.

Oh. He doesnt play defense either.....

Still his fault we lost, so there.

/sarcasm.

Some of you guys really need to wake up here. We got beat by a badass Ravens team. It is not all Cassel's fault that we lost. When we get some receivers that can actually get open against good defenses, we will see what Cassel can do.

Under that heavy pressure that the Ravens bring, ANY quarterback would be challenged to complete passes to our receivers when the ball has to be put on target with absolute pinpoint accuracy while being rushed/hit.

Bowe was completely MIA in this game and he's our biggest receiving threat. Who exactly is Cassel supposed to be throwing this football to, exactly?

When you ragers pull your heads out of your collective asses and answer that, you'll figure out a lot of what youre saying is complete bullshit.

Great Post! Cassel showed that he can be the qb that we want this year. He just needs some more weapons and a better offensive line.

The problem is your use of vague terms. You haven't told us your definition of franchise QB, and you haven't asked a question. How can Cassel be the answer if you have not asked a question? Also, progress isn't always linear....today's game was a huge pile of shit..but I still think the arrow points up. I doubt we give up on Cassel after the last 2 weeks. Maybe you and people like you will give up, but no one important will.

Not really. Just another combination of the "Cassel is the only reason the Chiefs lost" strawman and the misguided belief that nobody was open all game. And none of it changes the fact that Cassel's ceiling has been clearly established as not-quite-as-good-as-Kitna, which is not acceptable to anybody who wants this team to do more than win 9 or 10 games and lose in the first round every year.
