Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

Good Post.

By the way meant to tell you, love the Red Foreman sig. That 70's show was a must watch for me growing up.

You don't have to turn in your I hate Matt Cassel card by admitting when he plays well. Not every good play by Cassel has to be qualified...yeah, but....
Sometimes he plays well.
I still want another QB

I understand why you would feel that way, but I must respectfully decline. I personally think

1. If Indy gets a shot at Luck they will take him and sit him behind Peyton so he can take over in a few years (similar to a Favre/Rodgers situation).

2. Based of Pioli's history (Captain tradeback) I just don't see him trading up in order to get Luck. Especially with what it would cost to get him.

If we want Luck, the only shot is to get #1. That would force Pioli's hand. I would be fine without getting Luck if I felt Pioli would draft a 1st round caliber QB, I just have my doubts right now until he proves otherwise.

Id be okay with that, so long as we restructure his contract to that of someone who is a backup.

You undoubtedly can, but when there is a prospect like that dangling out there and when we all know the team is going absolutely nowhere, it's hard not to be deflated to miss out on such a talent.

What further compounds the problem is that I am abjectly terrified that Pioli will evaluate Cassel based on games like today, and he'll be our QB for the next 6 years.

I don't trust his QB evaluation skills in the least. No GM could **** up the Luck pick, however.

I'd be willing to wager at this point he thinks he's good to ride with Cassel and has Stanzi as his replacement in the wings.

I'd hand over the entire draft and give the team with the #1 overall pick a list of our players and say "Pick one from each side of the ball".

The problem being is if they don't feel that way what makes you think they'd pick him at that spot on the first place.

Personally, I'm not one of those people who sit around Madden football style creaming over who we may get in the draft by losing.
totally disagree

if Miami gets the #1 pick...they wouldn't take our 2012 and 2013 ENTIRE drafts for Andrew Luck

I told a friend today...if I had a choice at 2 QB's going forward...from right now...

I'd choose Aaron Rodgers...and then...Andrew Luck.

Almost, as long as the defensive player is not Berry.

I'd trade TWO entire drafts for Luck...without thinking twice.

We have plenty of young talent...we are a QB short...and the rest we can fill with smart free agent additions.

we might as well understand we're not getting luck...and hope someone like Landry Jones is available via trade and that he turns out to be good.

I'd hand over the draft in a heart beat. Prob. next years first as well. Wouldn't give up any players but I think Luck is more valuable that anyone you draft with the picks you give up combined.

you can find 5 or 6 (if not more) undrafted guys every year who are just as valuable as 80% of 4th round picks...(or later)

Shit...unless you lose a guy like Berry or an absolute IMPACT player...half the time you can't even notice the difference between a Javier Arenas and a Jalil Brown...it's all about scheme...the 90% defense rule

Lmao, you are delusional. This is a prospect, not a lock, he could be manning or he could be leaf. You don't know. This guy has a chance to be really good, but there are no guarantees.
