There is no need for that anytime soon. The market is over filled with houses already built~

Of course not, according to some. Funny how I just got a personnel requisition approved to hire someone to work on semiconductor furnaces that we build that have robotic automation in them. They don't install or fix themselves...

Sounds like you're tagging it as the main culprit to me.
No it doesn't. You must have missed the part where I said "for instance."

If you think that's what I said then it's your problem. not mine. Manpower is needed to build computers. But Computers, robotics etc, are built to reduce man's labor. What manpower it takes to create technology is increasingly more than offset by the tasks the very technology is assigned to do.

Stands to reason that sometime in the Utopian future - if this planet ever survives our indiscretions - man will hardly have to work. the "unemployment" curve may fluctuate up and down some, but I believe it is on an ever-increasing tangent.

I wonder if people in the past ever used to worry about the ditchdigging jobs once someone invented the backhoe.

Seems to me we taught all the ditchdiggers to use a backhoe, and we got a lot more ditches dug.

Yeah, nice try...you were referring to unemployment directly although you were talking about a recession initially. Try to follow your own thought patterns.
