Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I think its just a $200.00 dollar tax stamp. In Omaha you have to register the Can with the Police department. But out side the county limits you dont. I would think your local sheriffs department would be able to answer any question you have. Thats who I would ask.

I finally took my synthetic stock off my SKS. Looked nice and all, but the original stock is so much lighter and shorter, makes the rifle feel almost carbine like.

I've become a pretty big fan of the Kel-Tecs. Carry the P-32 in my dress clothes in a pocket holster and it's not noticeable at all. Like my PF9 also.

I did find though that it helped my accuracy a bit though to add one of these Pachmeyer grips. I think Hogue might make one too, but for a little gun like this, it helped me quite a bit.

I'm sure everyone here watches or has heard of the show Sons of Guns. I caught an episode last night of a modified AR they used to go hunt wild boar. That gun was sweet. I want one.

They are for sale on their website. For the measly price of $3500.

Don't much care for AR-15 and other M-16 derivatives. The .223 round it's built around it too easily defeated by modern, lightweight body armor. In my military career (30 years and counting in USAF) it's also been my experience that they malfunction WAAAAAAAY too much.

I used to have a very nice Browning Hi-Power (P-35). Great gun. But even it's 9mm round is too small. I'd like to get another one in the .40 S&W.

@Denny are you saying that the M-16 malfunctions way to much or that the .223 you put through the rifle cause it to malfunction?

I've been waiting for either buds or CTD to drops the price on their Mossberg 100 ATR's for a while now...neither want to budge. If you guys come across a deal on these rifles let me know asap.

military bought .223 / 5.56mm rounds malfunction SOME times, but I don't know if I'd let that take away from the round completely. I have about 15 years in the Army so I understand the point you went for. However with several more years in the civilian sector and on a SWAT team were we had carbines and also switched from the MP-5 to the 5.56 micro galil, and let me tell you, I never had any malfunctions with higher grade ammo.

Again, I haven't had a lot of malfunctions with military ammo either

I hope you guys aren't getting suckered into buying A/R's that say 5.56 on the receiver but actually have .223 chambers. The larger head of the 5.56 is going to stress the hell out of the chambers.

I'm sure most here are smart enough to know that difference, I was saying it to talk about Denny's point of military ammo.
