Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Have you seen Young Adult? Stars her and Patton Oswalt. It's not for everyone, but I really liked it.

Basically she's the hot chick from high school... moved away and became an author. She decides to come back and re-unite with her old boyfriend (who happens to be happily married with a new baby.) It's a "dramady" Lots of awkward moments.

One question. How many words did Gosling's character actually speak? Seemed like less than 200.

My brother watched that last night and said it was pretty good. Tonight, I'm wanting to watch a movie but I just have so much to choose from that I can't decide. I got a movie called Videodrome from 1983. It seems like maybe I've seen it before and liked it, but I don't know for sure. I browse around on Netflix instant watch all the time, but often I can't decide. I remember the days of renting a video at Blockbuster and watching it without thinking because it's all you had.

That the one about Rome with Channing Tatum in it?

If so, I really enjoyed that movie. I thought it was going to suck strictly because most movies featuring Channing Tatum do indeed suck. But I was very pleased with it.

Immortals and Real Steel were both great from an entertainment perspective. I'm currently re-watching Immortals.

Whaaa? Man, I thought it was pretty good. Of course, there were some things that pissed me off:

Who places a stairway that leads directly to what you're trying to protect immediately after the gate that you built trying to protect it? Seriously, the bad guy destroyed the wall, took two steps and hung a right and was inside the mountain. Strategically that makes no sense. And Zeus can train Theseus from when he was a young lad but once Ares comes down and squashes the guys that were going to kill him, Zeus offs him? (Zeus later says they can't influence them in their God form so apparently that's how he wiped his hands of that issue, but still) Why were the Titans depicted as weird monkey, African tribesmen looking dudes? They were supposed to be as unique as the Gods themselves. Speaking of Gods, where the **** were they all at? From my count we only saw six of them. So Hades and Hera were just chilling somewhere while the others went to war with the only force known to be able to kill them?

Even so, I thought it was pretty cool. Any scene with the Gods in it was gold to me. I thought that was well done. Mickey Rourke played a great villain and Theseus was pretty cool for a no-name. Plus the Indian oracle bitch had a nice ass. Theseus should have been tapping that from the get.

EDIT: I Redboxed it so maybe that's the difference. I had no expectations and didn't pay much..

everytime I see the chick from twilight, I know there's going to be too much fetal position, butt hurt, crying. Looked cool but I can't dig that casting choice.

But, I've watched some great documentaries on Netflix.

Elevate was awesome.

Watched "The Cabin in the Woods" last night.. The lady and I were both thoroughly entertained. The movie takes a lot from other great horror flicks but somehow still seems very original. I highly recommend this one -- it's sitting at 92% right now on RT.
