River or lake?

Which setting do you prefer to camp in?

The river - Set up camp, grab your canoe or inner tube, a cooler of beer and sandwiches, and hit the river! Get back to camp, and heat up the fire.

The lake - Set up camp, grab the boat, a cooler of beer, and your fishing gear and hit the lake! Get back to camp, clean fish, and heat up the fire.

I'm torn. I love to go floating, but I love fresh fish. I think I'd have to go for the river. Nothing like a lazy day on the river, stopping to swim and eat, and then getting back on the river.

if a man is camping and drinking, he's lucky to be able to stand up and pee in the woods. we're leaning up against a tree just like you.

I like lakes better for ease of fishing & swimming, no sneaky currents or sinkholes to worry about, ya gotta be kinda careful swimming around a real river, plus... most of the rivers around here are as brown as dirt, not the most inviting looking things.

But for overall sporting & elements of danger, rivers are where the real action is, no doubt. Fishing a river is much more exciting, never know what you might pull out of a river, stop on a sandbar for shenanigans if you're boating it, great fun.

River.

I'll go with river. I have fond memories fishing for trout on the White River with my grandpa.
