Worst U. S. Economy Ever!!

The Economy is in the worst shape of its history. The Weekend Box office reports that "The Avengers" Only made 200.3 Million=Friday through Sunday for the Biggest Opening of All Time.

Americans dropped 239.17 on Movie tickets this weekend (not counting concessions).

What is this country coming to when the Cash Strapped Americans only have 1.8 million dollars to spend on "3 " tickets.

If you add the following to the total:

Alcohol
Cigs
MLB games
Pay per view Boxing
Video rental
illegal drugs
Other sporting events
Casino Gambling
Lottery tickets
Concerts
Other Recreation

Americans dropped over 2 Billion dollars this weekend with Zero Assets to show for it in return.

So you're saying they've never paid in? If so then it's their money that they're getting back.

OK, I'll concede that you make a good point. Evidently the Lone Star card program has bigger problems than just movie theater benefits. Looking into it a little, it's being abused to a disgusting degree...

Wow.

I understand needy children being taken care of by the state and adults that can't take care of themselves getting a hand.
When abuse like this take place it literally takes food out of the mouths of those that might need it.

Using the Lonestar card to buy movie tickets is pretty much like people selling their food stamps to buy drugs-happens every day.

Where we're from we use our food stamps to trade for movie tickets. Less of a paper trail.

The fact that the card works at, and is accepted by, what should be non-qualifying merchants points to areas of needed improvement within that system IMHO.

Point is the Media and other Anti Government pundits are always hollering the economy is SOOOO bad. Their Scare tactics don't hold water when the US can drop a couple Billion every weekend with absolutly Zero assets to show for it. This is Not money people are using to pay debt and bills or feeding kids, it is pure entertainment and waste.

My Grandparents told me many stories about the Depression and they were Not Buying lottery tickets, buying weed and wasting precious resources. This so called recession is not even close to what happened in the 70's.

Real Estate Mortgages were 12 to 17% Not 2.89% to 6%.

I was a kid, but still remember the gas lines around the block and My Mom trying to sell Real Estate with Ultra high mortgages. Lean times.

When I was little I wanted to be a Gas Station attendant. I thought he was the Richest guy in the world. Always had a line of cars, big roll of cash and the ultra cool change giver on his belt.

I figured man he has it made-all he has to do is pump gas-lol

I'd have guessed stopping for gas in your 20's meant buying a feedbag of oats at the livery stable.
