2012 Slogan: Our Time

With the beginning of a new year, it is time for the 2012 version of the Royals Repository Thread. We've got Hosmer, we've got a 2011-dominating Gordon, we've got Moose, we've got hopefully a killer bullpen, we've got a stereotypical slow slugging DH, we've got easily one of the best defensive shortstops in the AL, we've got a promising catcher in Salvador Perez. Hell, we've got offense and promising prospects galore.

We do not have starting pitching.

Oh yeah, we've also got this:

Get ready for, (as of January 2012 anyway), one of the most confusing puzzles of a baseball season in recent Royals history. Will they suck? Maybe, I don't know. Will we be given a year of 0.500 baseball? Possibly, I don't know. Will they win the division and go to the playoffs for the first time in 27 years? For the first time in a long time, it could happen, I don't know. 92 losses, 92 wins, or anything in between would not surprise a lot of us.

Everything goes here except Gameday threads and really big news. If a giant story breaks, the Royals achieve some awesome milestone, or we sign/lose a highly significant player/coach/mascot/whatever, then it might also deserve its own thread. This being Chiefs Planet, please do not clutter the board with new threads about trivial Royals news or you will only annoy those who come here for just Chiefs football. If you aren't sure and its not a Gameday thread, it goes here.

What sort of stuff often goes here? SPchief explained it well, so I'll just copy that:

Enjoyed the game last night, except for a few dumbass fans. Gotta rant for a bit (not really related to the game).

1) "Well, at least Moose got a single." You ****ing idiot, a fielder's choice is not a single.

2) "Butler's the most overrated player in the league." Do you watch baseball?

3) To the ****head who was groping his best friend's ugly girlfriend, falling all over me while trying to turn around & talk to the girls behind us & stole my garden gnome when I took a piss during "Friends in Low Places" and then left before I got back: **** you. I'm going to find you and cut you and get my gnome back. Jackass.

Sorry. Love the K, but hate the fans for the most part.

I don't know if anyone could hear a whistle blowing on the telecast, but that person got tossed and about 10 others for being fall down, f-bomb dropping wasted.

Where was that at? Down the first base line, a group of about 4 morons broke a seat about an hour before the game...

I sit off 3rd base, under the overhang. Usually the drunks stay on the go around the stadium, but last night was near Opening Day bad.

I know this isn't an original thought I'm just wondering what our chances would be of getting a guy like Terry Francona in KC IF Yost weren't to be retained next season. I'm sure it would take a pretty monumentally bad year the rest of the way... but we're certainly capable of that. I've generally defended Yost but I don't like a lot of the desicions he makes, just like a lot of other people. I don't know if he's the right guy or not. Anymore I tend to lean toward not.

I'm just rambling out loud. (actually in post form)

Went to the game on Friday and it was like Fraternity/Sorority night in our section. The frat guys were being douches and the girls were annoying and wouldn't stop talking about stupid girl shit while my brother and I tried to enjoy the game.
