IIRC, that's how the conditions of Nebraska's deal originally got out. People assumed it was the same offer that Mizzou had. Now, it looks like the Nebraska deal is worse than what Mizzou supposedly declined.

I seem to remember the Missouri gov talking about the big 10 then they didn't get in and Nebraska left because they couldn't beat Texas and leaving was going to kill recruiting then mizzou left and it was going to help their recruiting.

Has the SEC made a formal offer to play at the Sprint Center? I don't think they have.

Rather than be happy that the Big XII decided to stay in KC (which I think everyone is KC is happy for, I know I am), Hypocritson decided to try to spin the Big XII contract extension into something it wasn't (KC rejecting Mizzou or some such).

The Big XII knows that KC loves hosting the tourney. Obtaining the right of first refusal only helps the Big XII if they think someone else would want to use that space on that weekend. The Big XII, if no one else, believed that there was a chance another conference (SEC, or even the Missouri Valley) would be interested in coming to KC, so they decided to secure their place first in line. Nothing more, nothing less. The Big XII decision does not reflect on Mizzou at all, but don't tell Hypocritson that.
