What should we expect of a #3 overall Draft Pick?

Some of you seem amazingly content and satisfied that Tyson Jackson should develop into a quality starter at 3-4 DE, one who will hold the point of attack, hustle and try hard, and every blue moon participate in the pass rush.

Those who are satisfied have absolutely no clue about what a #3 overall is supposed to be in terms of value and production. A #3 overall is supposed to be a dominant star player with HOF potential. Tyson Jackson isn't even in the same galaxy as that caliber of player. Jackson would have been fine as a Third Round pick. As a third overall, he was properly panned as having precisely no upside beyond the likes of Brett Keisel. Tyson was 4-3 DE last year and proved to everyone watching that he is not an elite athlete or an elite pass rusher. He is the proverbial "run stuffing DE." It is absolutely breathtaking to read the crap here that somehow because he isn't a backup and actually does some good things on the field that he is a "good pick." He would have been a "good pick" in Round 3. As a #3 overall, he is precisely why so many have laughed at this once proud franchise.

And, of course, I forgot, we cannot possibly spend the #3 overall on a "right tackle" because having someone like First Rounder John Tait at ORT was such a friggin disaster for this Franchise...

Jackson was better than Raji last year... and like it was known going into the draft.... that was one of the weakest drafts in history for top end talent.

Awful comparison. Raji is one of the better players at his position. Jackson type can be found on the scrap heap of FA's.

It's a shame TFG/Dexter Manley isn't here to see Darryl Harris make second string on the depth chart.
