That part just shows how liberated he is.

This will be the dirtyest campaign we have ever seen. I have no doubt Obama will go to all lengths and find new lows to save his job

Romney made a birther crack today. I guess the extreme nutjobs and teabagger fringe has been feeling left out lately.

The Wright story was a story. Romney's Mormonism is as well. You are simultaneously arguing that Wright's version of Christianity should have been covered more, while Romney's Mormonism should be covered less. |

Nobody but right wing kooks cared about Wright, so that says something about your concern about mormons. |

Mormonism, despite its popularity, is still pretty mysterious to most folks. |

On a side note the rental revenues for Orgazmo might see an uptick.

The statements you attribute to the gay guy were from 20 years ago when he first left the church. That was pretty close to the Mormon teachings at that time. What you don't mention that the show clearly demonstrated that the church had softened its positions since then. He has since come back to the church and is the leader of his local congregation in San Francisco. He is celibate and can remain a leader as long as he remains celibate. The guy had a lot of good to say about the church and NBC reported it without bias. They spent at least 15 minutes stressing the charity work that the church does showing this giant warehouse with all kinds of groceries and other essentials ready to distribute to the needy. You don't have to be Mormon or convert to access this help. That entire segment had a 100% positive spin on it. NBC avoided a lot of the really crazy theological stuff. None of the people they interviewed who had left the church had an ax to grind. They all had some good things to say about it. I'm not a fan of Mormonism at all. I came away from the NBC show with a better opinion of Mormonism. It was a pretty balanced piece, a little on the soft side if you ask me. If it were my church, I would have been happy with the overall picture presented. |

There is absolutely nothing mysterious about mormonism. Their history is intertwined with American history, it's pretty much out there for all to see, the good and the horrible, from the beginning to present day. Like I said, you're confusing it with something like scientology. |
